Guy Lapointe’s Only NHL Hat Trick (Nov. 13, 1974)
A wild one at the Forum: Guy Lapointe put up five points, scored the only hat trick of his career, and still the Habs fell 8–6 to Buffalo. Montreal got behind early, fought back on Lapointe’s three goals and two assists, but the Sabres’ “French Connection” kept answering. Serge Savard added three assists and a +5 in the loss. A forgotten classic.
