SCAR PLAYING STARDEW VALLEY WITH GEM OH MY GOD???? THEY DID THIS FOR ME SPECIFICALLY.
god i don't utilize the constant references to chris's childhood when he talks about celia enough but i just knooooooww chris turns into a little boy again around his mother, becoming this quiet, docile, unrecognizable thing who tries to cut himself down and make himself palatable for her tastes, just like back when he was a child............quietly wilting under her coldly cruel gaze and words, swallowing back his rage and hurt and trying to be as good as possible for her lest she get upset with him, lest she hurt him again, he just wants her to care about him the way he does her............picturing chris's friends seeing the way he acts around her for the first time and being taken aback by how small he makes himself, the weird desperate naivety he exudes and the odd subtle pleasure that seems to come off of celia as she walks over him and tramples this weird people-pleasing and impossibly small seeming version of her son.............chris interpreting that pleasure as her being pleased with him, like he's doing a good job and making her happy, and continuing to adopt this childlike persona as defense (she always treats him just barely better when he's small and doesn't fight back) and an attempt to earn her love and be good enough for her...........oughogughgdsljf
seth desperately wanting to not come to blows with sami……. GUYS
taught a peer revision lesson and after explicitly stating “be kind, be helpful, be accurate” and thinking the lesson went well cause everyone was having fun I was horrified too read kids give feedback like “this was bad. the punctuation was bad. the spelling was bad” to each other
