Now that Harry’s got everything under control with the Gazette, he needs to figure out - the rest of it. His friends, the people he cares about. Jubilee’s safe at least - she’s settled, in some way, an open invitation for her to stay at his place as long as she needs the escape. Harry gets the feeling that there’s more going on there than he knows, but he can’t push her. He knows that better than anyone, so... for now? He’s gonna worry about one of his closest friends.
He can still remember Gwen’s sobs from the other night - he’s not sure if it’s just the boys, just her mom, just her dad but things aren’t right in her world right now, that much he does know. And it was bound to catch up with her - she’s trying to run her whole family by herself, and Harry knows she’s not one to ask for help even when she really needs it. And he might not be able to make her talk about whatever it is that’s got her feeling this way, he might not be able to fix it, but he can at least be there for her. Just like she was there for him when he needed it the most.
Which is why he finds himself at the door to her apartment late in the afternoon, knocking on the door and waiting for someone to answer. When the door finally swings open it’s not Gwen who’s standing there - it’s one of the boys, Garrick, and Harry’s face splits into a smile immediately. “Harry!!” The surprise on his face is absolutely heartwarming and Harry holds his arms out. “Hey, kiddo, I’m back.” Garrick launches himself at Harry for a hug and he can’t help but chuckle, leading him back into the apartment with the kid still hanging off his waist, asking a million questions. He hovers in the doorway, listening to Garrick chatter on until Gwen comes out. “I guess he missed me?” He says to her with a smile.
