Oof developing Gwenevier’s plotlines and character arc and having feelings about the idea of her and Palamedes tripping into a friendship rooted in being outliers in a world that has mostly done away with religion. The overlapping shared values between Muslims and Christians and him being one of the only people who understands how much the failure of her marriage to Arthur is wrecking her and how scared she is of a relationship with Lancelot because as wonderful as he is and as willing as he is to humor her insistence on monogamy he doesn’t understand/agree with it—
and the crunchy crunchy CRUNCHY idea of the person who DOES—this Muslim boy who’s willing ostracized himself from the other knights because he will not bend to the culture around him offering her friendship and support without any romantic strings attached—
Yea yea true love is great give me more non-romantic found family not everyone who loves Gwenevier is IN LOVE with her
Arthur loved her romantically, but it’s faded with time as he’s gotten to know her better, they are too often at political odds, he loves her nostalgically, but would rather be with Lisanor/Silvia
Lancelot loves her romantically, and the more he gets to know her the more he loves her, even if he doesn’t understand her, he admires her, and will be her Happily Ever After eventually
Mordred loves her as the only mother he’s ever known—his first and final loyalty, fierce and blind and savage and dangerous—
Palamedes loves her as his sister in faith, even if they don’t agree on the fine details, he’s the only one who doesn’t have her up on some kind of pedestal but respects her anyway.
