I am THIS 🤏 close to writing an anthology fic for my Skylander OCs that already died because the current fic I have won't really dive into the dynamics they have with the Skylanders.
I want to write about how Yue and Jet Vac met after he lost his wings. I want to write Atlas's shenanigans with the Swappers. I want to fully write Hawthorne's backstory. I want to write a Beryl and Rattle Shake team up. I legit have an entire scene in my head with Gweyn helping Bouncer break free from his Arkeyan programming!
I have SO many ideas and plot bunnies and I need to write them down somewhere-
Meet Gweyn, a Tech Portal Master from the Arkeyan War and an ally to the Giants! (And Kiren, Yue, and Atlas's ancestor)
With a combination of Arkeyan texh and her own magic, Gweyn created an invisibility/shape-shifting cloak. The effect activates when she pulls the good up. While the Giants took down the Arkeyans from outside, Gweyn would infiltrate facilities and sabotage them from the inside.
Gweyn wasn't banished to Earth with the Giants after the Arkeyan King was defeated. In fact, she had no idea what happened to them and she couldn't find them anywhere in Skylands. With a heavy heart, Gweyn focused on helping Skylands rebuild after the Arkeyan occupation. Gweyn lived a full life before eventually dying of old age
Portal Magic relies on connections—whether it be the bond you share with someone or a place you know very well. The range a portal master can reach can be boosted by another portal master. Portals to and from another world takes a lot more power than just transporting someone somewhere in Skylands
Kiren
Warp Dash: A quick teleport forward. Can be used multiple times in a row but ill advised as it takes a lot of energy
Light Arrows: Can summon a bow and arrows made of pure light.
Arrows can vary in speed andpower.
Trick Light Arrows: Nets, grappling hooks, and explosives. Takes a bit more energy to create however
Can just summon an arrow and use it as a melee weapon
Has the ability to restore someone or something that has been corrupted by the Darkness
Casper
Warp Dash
Hydrokinesis: Literally water bending. Though they need a source of water (has a water bottle on them at all times) They can also manipulate ice and the temperature of the water
Can breathe underwater
Has a knife (a gift from Trap Shadow) for emergencies
Hawthorne
Healing Word: A quick healing spell. First aid for missions
Restoration: The Big healing spell. Takes a lot of energy and time. Never used in battle
Enchanted flora: Uses the plants around him to attack and defend
When all else fails, smack them with the staff
Yue
Warp/lightning dash: Portal magic mixed with her own elemental magic
Flight: Manipulates the air around her to fly
Arcane Lightning: A BUNCH of lightning spells, all varied in speed and power. Needs time to recharge between spells (or a boost from another lightning user)
Out of magic? Be ready to catch these hands
Atlas
Can just straight up teleport as much as he wants as long as it's a short distance. Long distance teleports require a lot more magic and energy
Telekinesis: Can be used to throw weapons, objects, people, or even himself
Bo staff: used for close combat. Often combos with his own magic
Beryl
Wields an extremely heavy hammer. Very few can lift it and even fewer can use it effectively
Can control and manipulate gems and crystals (used to be a treasure hunter before becoming ascout)
An effective close combat fighter just in case magic isn’t an option
Nina
Warp dash: leaves a burning trail in her wake
Sword skills passed down from Ignitor and Chop Chop. Sword can be set on fire
Heat resistance: Doesn’t overheat but can get burned
Can conjure her own fire. Often tosses fireballs into a horde of enemies to scatter them, orcreates a wave of fire to defend herself.
Reagan
Warp dash: Can be used while flying
Reaper wings: Wings are manifestations of Undead magic. Nearly indestructible and can beused as shields
Can summon Undead spirits for assistance in battle or just gathering intel. Ghosts are returned to the Underworld after a while. Some of the ghosts are summoned often and have become friends with Reagan (expect a post about them soon)
Wields dual sickles. His fighting style is quick and precise
Gweyn
Illusion Cloak: Can either make herself invisible or disguise herself as someone else. Her voice isn’t disguised though, she has to keep talking to a minimum
Uses her portal magic to power her inventions
Laser dagger: exactly what it sounds like. Mostly for utility purposes (like cutting through control panels and what not) but can be used as a weapon
Stun gun: A weapon of Gweyn’s design. A tiny gun filled with billions of volts of electricity Capable of bringing down multiple Arkeyan Conquertrons with a single charge
Hyacinth
His guitar is infused with traptanium and has a blade embedded in the side. Built to withstand heavy hits and play sick tunes
Knows how to fight but is not very experienced. Never got into a real fight before joining the Skylanders
Can send out destructive waves of dark magic by playing his guitar. Can also use pinpointattacks with his magic
Prefers hit-and-run tactics, uses his wings to dodge and weave through enemies
What are/were Reagan, Nina, Beryl, and Gweyn's sexualities? I know that Beryl is nonbinary and Nina is attracted to nonbinary people since she ends up with Casper Marian, but that's about it.
what are some silly random fun facts you can think for your OCs in your AU (Kiren, Casper, Yue, Hawthorn, etc)? what silly quirks did/do they have?
Casper and Reagan are both anime fans but have different tastes in anime. Reagan watches more slice of life anime while Casper really likes Shonen anime. Though Casper hasn't been to Earth in a long while so Reagan is helping them catch up on what they missed
Kiren already knew most swear words when she was ten years old. Most of it was from some of the Skylanders accidentally swearing when she was around.
Gweyn usually tinkered with a small gadget to keep her hands busy.
Because of his Magic Wings, Reagan had to take flight lessons, mostly from Knight Light.
Nina's fire magic will flare up in bursts when she gets excited and or upset. Just big emotions in general will cause a flare up
Yue has accidentally shocked some people after using a big lightning spell. There's a lot of left over charge and electricity can be jumpy
Stealth Elf got Kiren to watch Monday Night Ninja Fights with her. It's their bonding activity now
Nina nearly fainted from sheer happiness when she first saw the Academy library
Casper can breathe underwater!
Atlas can tell when someone has a crush on another person but is absolutely oblivious when someone has a crush on him
Hawthorne loves learning about all kinds of magic, even magic he's physically incapable of casting. He just loved learning for the sake of learning
Yue went to Sonic Boom for advice on being a good mom when she found out she was pregnant
Hyacinth's go-to solution for vehicle problems is "percussive maintenance" Turns out, giving a vehicle a good bonk in the right places solves the problem 80% of the time
Kiren has done the Akira Slide on her motorcycle and both Casper and Reagan lost their minds when they saw it
Beryl is a lot stronger than they look in terms of muscle. They could easily lift Doom Stone AND Rubble Rouser
