Blood. So much blood. The feel of it, the smell, the taste. It was all he was use to. That, and the screams of the very children who bore his Master's snakes, which was music to his ears, until he entered the Haze. It was not the normal place he had dwelled in before gaining a human master, but a personal hell of sorts. He had been sent there, not only by Haruka, but his Queen, as well. Bah, insulting! This new wish that had brought him back was the most confusing one that he had to grant, yet.. 'Live. Live, and learn from your mistakes.' Pah! He was flawless! What 'mistakes' could he possibly have? Sure, there was a minor miscalculation, forgetting to factor in the sheer stupidity of the 'power of friendship', but he could easily destroy them now... Right? Looking across the way, his golden eyes catch sight of a very familiar girl. Shifting his heels, he makes his way over to her.

5. earlobe kiss

Tears fill her burning red scarlet hues, the happiness sweeping through her fingers, still in amazement of being able to breathe and not feel trapped into a timeless state. To be able to touch again her loved ones, she can’t thank enough the chance of leaving that world of hazy silhouettes.

She knows that the aftermath will be painful because she is now an orphan, but she pushes away the terrifying thoughts. The reunion in this abandoned laboratory is perhaps not the most suitable place to cry out of relief, the arms of her siblings not letting her go. Afraid, they are so afraid of her abandoning them one more time, whether her reasons were selfish or selfless, they don’t seem to care.

Shintaro’s voice interrupts their cries to gesture his phone, a gaze of comprehension towards the original three members of the blindfold gang. Curiously, she opens her mouth to ask what is going on but a single smile from her previous classmate tells her to wait. Perhaps, it is because she is not still used to him showing kindness so easily that the honesty of his gesture instantly shuts her up.

Receiving the phone with infantile wonder, she almost drops it at the buzz it causes. Then, the background turns on, and the quizzical expression vanishes to be replaced by an astonishment one. The applications of the phone are hidden behind the figure of a blue cyber entity, pigtails like the way her senior would wear on their school days.

It does not pass a single second before the cyber entity smiles widely, the azure hues twinkling in joy as Ayano cries, recognizing the similarity between a nasty glare and a trembling grin with the way Takane would smile when believing no one was looking at her. How could she had forgotten about the other form of her best friend?

“It’s nice to see you again, Takane-san.”

Trembling fingers grasp the phone with all her force as the tears fall into the screen, Takane’s laughs sounding so carefree in contrast to her hiccups. Pressing a kiss to the forehead, the younger girl realizes her mistake once Takane makes a squeak and a loud ‘Ayano-chan!’ She has kissed her ears and it has caused her to tremble. Laughing in joy, the red scarfed girl smiles between tears.

Since Takane is hesitant at walking after having her body returned to her and Ayano is not used at walking in the real world, they both take long walks together to get a better control of their bodies. At the beginning, they would be exhausted or they would slip many times but after a lot of effort, they would finally be able to not bump against anyone.
