A wave of something akin to sadness washed over the man as he descended from the rooftop of an upscale club, deftly landing in the alley situated behind it. Even from outside, he could sense the overwhelming feeling of fear emanating from within; from the sheer number of women forced to entertain the men who partake in this place’s sort of business. The sordid sort. The sort of which sickened Darius, instilled a blaze of anger right down to his very soul. Women weren’t objects, especially for the purpose of satiating some sick man’s lust.
He couldn’t allow rage to cloud his mind though, he had a job to do. One of the benefactor’s visiting this particular club was someone he had been tracking for quite some time. All the way from Germany, in fact. The man went by the name of Johann and, on the surface, he was a respected businessman. One of whom owned an array of successful car dealerships. Beneath, however, he was a tyrant. He was a notorious human trafficker; but not of the normal variety. He didn’t traffic humans for sex or slavery, but for blood. That was the reason for Darius’s presence here tonight. He had to take this vile man down.
The dhampir unzipped his hoodie to reveal a well-pressed, black waistcoat and slim tie. His slacks and crisply polished shoes brought the outfit full circle and he knew very well that he was looking rather dashing tonight. After running a quick hand through his wispy hair, he ventured out of the alley and into the street. After flashing a convincing fake ID at the bouncer stationed at the door, he was gained entrance to the gentlemen’s club.
By now, the target was most likely engaging with a woman. That made things splendidly easier for Darius. To his knowledge, the rooms for those activities were located in the back of the club; well hidden, away from prying eyes. So that was the direction Darius headed in, not knowing what he will find and hoping it will all work out in his favour. Johann could have his servants here, for all Darius knew. He hurriedly meandered his way through the crowd and tables, absentmindedly refusing the offer of a drink. His blue-gray eyes shifted to a fierce crimson the closer he got to the backrooms; his blood was boiling and he couldn’t wait for the carnage. He used his shadows to locate Johann and soon found himself outside the correct room; he could hear Johann’s gruff voice, along with the soft voice of a woman. Darius grasped the doorknob and forced his way inside.
