Facts About Neville Longbottom

Neville Longbottom is a pure-blood Gryffindor. His parents, Frank and Alice Longbottom, were prominent Aurors and Order of the Phoenix members until they were tortured into insanity (with the Cruciatus Curse) by a group of Death Eaters led by Bellatrix Lestrange. Neville was subsequently raised by his paternal grandmother.

Neville participates in the battle in the Department of Mysteries, in which he accidentally breaks the prophecy about Harry and Voldemort. Dumbledore, to whom it was originally made, explains that it concerned "the Chosen One", a wizard who would have the power to vanquish Voldemort and who would be born "as the seventh month dies" to "parents who have defied the Dark Lord thrice"; thus could refer to either Neville, who was born on 30 July 1980, or Harry, who was born a day later. This means that Neville could easily have had Harry's fate, had Voldemort chosen to target him instead of Harry..

With Hogwarts at the mercy of new headmaster Severus Snape and Death Eater siblings Alecto and Amycus Carrow, in Deathly Hallows, Neville reforms Dumbledore's Army with Ginny and Luna, and spends much of his seventh year as the group's leader, helping students who are tormented under the new regime. Neville's bravery is fully revealed here, as he not only tried to steal the sword of Gryffindor for Harry but also refused to obey the Carrows' cruel regime. Neville reveals to Harry that he had been subjected to the Cruciatus Curse by the Carrows as a result and was forced to go into hiding in the Room of Requirement to avoid Azkaban or death. 

During the Battle of Hogwarts, Neville is immobilised by Voldemort's Full Body-Bind curse, after which the Sorting Hat is placed on his head and set on fire. Neville later breaks free of the curse, pulls Godric Gryffindor's sword from the Sorting Hat, and uses it to decapitate Nagini (on Harry's orders), thus destroying the final Horcrux. 

After the second war, Neville joined Harry and Ron to train to be an auror. but beside the success in the new career, the constant work against dark wizards made him  always felt that he would be more useful at Hogwarts than any place else in the wizard world. He retired at 2013, when professor Sprout asked him to replace her as Herbology teacher. 

He married Hannah Abbott somewhere around the year of 2010, after dating for a really long time. They agreed not having kids due Neville’s dangerous work could put the their family in risk. However they are lately cogitating to adopt a child now that has been two years since he is took over the teaching position at Hogwarts and Hannah current retirement from Leaky Cauldron.

His biggest virtues as teacher is be compassionate over the students that have difficult in his subject while his biggest flaws are trying to befriend students, therefore hesitate to discipline them and taking so hard on himself for student’s failure.

He is in favor of the Hogwarts Rejects, because he believes that they are one of the most that suffered from the war.

Minerva McGonagall - Minerva was overjoyed when Neville finally accepted the invitation to teach at Hogwarts. What nobody knows is that, with her retirement getting closer, she is really thinking into choose Neville to be her successor.

Hecate McLaggen - Neville doesn’t know what he did to annoy Hecate, but he certainly can see that she doesn’t like him at all. The former auror believes that her husband, Tiberius, may have said some nasty lie or some twisted rumor from Rita Skeeter.

Sheldon Cattermole - Niobe was the capitain of the dueling club when Sheldon first joined it. They became instant friends, even after she went to college, it was like they were never apart. He was her best man during the wedding. However Niobe feels that since her wedding, Sheldon is a bit distant from her, but might be just impression.

Emily Royer -  For him, she is rather odd, since she doesn’t seem to be too much involved around the political subject. He likes her mostly because she seems different from previously potion teachers Hogwarts had. Also, he tends to enjoy that Emily has a a great knowledge of herbology.

Niobe Carter-Stretton -  Niobe fought alongside Neville in battle of Hogwarts, and he was happy to see she was teaching there. She drops by his office once in a while to chit chat a little and makes happy to see the students has somebody to look it up to.

William Stretton - Neville doesn’t like him, since William was one of the older kids that bullied the former auror before the Battle of Hogwarts. He knows that people grow-up but dealing with the “Seer” in daily basis made him realize that’s not the other teacher’s case. What annoys Neville the most is that William tries to use his friendship with Niobe to promote the Singing Salamander choir, which is a waste of time for him.

Gaia Goshawk - He is still unsure what he did to Gaia, but this doesn’t stop Neville to admire her, since Goshawk was a bit of a legend in the auror’s office.

Facts About William Stretton

William is son of a muggle with a witch. The boy was raised by maternal grandparents since his mother, a former quidditch player - left him to follow Voldemort after William’s father abandoned her to be with a richer woman. They used to live on a muggle circle, using their magic to deceive muggles while avoiding the war in wizard world. He lived most of his childhood in the poorvety and part of him blames his mother for that.

He was sorted in Gryffindor, much to his grandparents relief. William never undestood why, but made the best of his time at Hogwarts by being on Frog choir and smuggling several muggles goodies (candies, magazines, card games....) inside the walls. It was around on the fourth year William found out he could use the tricks he learned while living in a circus to win some money pretending to be a seer.

After graduation, William decided to take his “seer” number to a next level, by studying everthing related to divination and the art of prediction, alongside with techniques muggle magicians used to fool people. Three years later, he started his own show on Skender Theater - an old nearly failed theater in Diagon Alley- every monday. His show became insanely popular after he joked in one of his many performances that Hogwarts would win the Triwizard Cup but either Cedric Diggory or Harry Potter would die on the last task killed by a evil wizard.  

This was enough to turn William into a instant star. He showed up in several magazines, gave interviews, wrote books, among other things. The Daily Prophet called him “the next Gilderoy Lockhart”. His 15 minutes of fame were running out when he said that Dumbledore would die and that Hogwarts would be destroyed during the war against Voldemort. This prediction was responsible to put him under Ministry’s Watch, fearing that the dark lord would abduct him and use Willam as weapon. Once the war was over, William was project into the stardom another time.

William came back to his weekly shows at the Skender and spend year on the anonymity, looking for ways to return to fame when he was invited by Sybill Trelawney to assume her position as divination teacher. He accepted, mostly because the salary was good and he could be able to find his way back to the top by the influence of students’ parents.

He applied to be the head of Gryffindor against Sheldon Cattermole and lost the position. With this failed attempt, William changed the focus to the Frog Choir. Choir’s suddenly fame in Europe as one of the best of the magical world could be what he needed to get back to fame. He tried to use the fact he used to be member of it to take out Hecate McLaggen as head of the choir only to lose another time. As a reaction, William create the Singing Salamander Choir, by convincing the headmistress that a small competition would be good to keep the Frog Choir on top. Most of the students believes that the Singing Salamander isn’t nothing but a joke, since they lost to Frog Choir every year on Hogwarts’ Annual Show Choir Constest.

It was while teaching at Hogwarts that he reconnected with his future wife, Niobe Carter. They married three years later and already has a 4 year old little girl that goes by the name of Hermione. They are one of the a few teachers that lives outside the castle, in Hogsmeade. Now that he is a father, William is focused more than ever to be famous again to make sure his daughter and wife never passes for what he had.

His biggest virtues as teacher is to know how to make his subject atractive to students and to know when people are lying to him while his biggest flaws are to be too lenient with the behavior of the students, having double standards with his alumns and lack of organization.

William is in favor of the Hogwarts Rejects, since he believes he will convince several of them to join his choir.

Relationships

Minerva McGonagall - Minerva has serious doubts about William’s divination skills, but she can’t deny that he was helpful during war. Although she is amused mostly, the headmistress thinks he is lucky part of the times. What people doesn’t know is that McGonagall allowed William to created the Singing Salamander Choir to keep him busy, wishing this will be enough for him to forget his plans.

Hecate McLaggen - William has nothing against her, and besides what everyone believes. He likes Hecate and apreciate the work she does on Frog Choir. The man thinks she is talented, wit and everything the newspaper tells about her. Her only problem is that she is in his way to get back to front page of Daily Prophet.

Sheldon Cattermole - Sheldon and William have a rivalry going on Sheldon arrival on the school. Besides noticing Sheldon’s puppy eyes crushing for his wife, The divination teacher believes that the other is too perfect for his own taste. Also William knows that there’s something fishy on the potion Professor Royer delivery to Sheldon every other week on his room at Hogwarts.

Emily Royer - William and the potion master get along too well. He likes to know that at least one teacher on this school besides his wife isn’t against him. William is amused with her idea that he can be a real seer but doesn’t know how to use his powers.

Niobe Carter-Stretton - William and Niobe met each other on college while she was studying the effects of ancient runes on seers’ predictions. They got along pretty well and got out for a couple of dates before losing contact. They reconnected again when she went to teach at Hogwarts, and their ended married and with a 4 year old child. He cannot lie to her, and Niobe actually makes him want to be the best version of himself to her and their daughter.

Gaia Goshawk -  They first met when Gaia and her team where protecting William from Voldemort and it was hate at first sight. If there’s a person William hates on Hogwarts, that person is Gaia Goshawk. To him, she shouldn’t be allowed to be near students since the old auror is nothing but a bully that is one step closer from getting a student in coma or dead.

Neville Longbottom -  William knows that Neville doesn’t like him, since he was one of the older kids that bullied the former auror before the Battle of Hogwarts. Still, William tries to use his wife’s friendship with Nevillie to get contact with the man, hoping the other teacher will leave grudges behind and help him to promote the Singing Salamander choir.

Facts About Sheldon Cattermole

Sheldon was born Sophia Cattermole in Truro, Cornwall son of a wizard and muggle. Since they had problems to conceive a child, and when they heard they were expecting a little girl, they did whatever they could to show how much they loved their kid. Sophia, however, felt a huge discomfort with wearing the girly clothes and the pink in everywhere. 

Sophia was about 10 years old when his psychiatrist told her mother he was suspecting her child was a trans boy. She was very supportive, and did everything she could to her child to be confortable on his own skin, including the name change. Sheldon’s father however wasn’t very much happy about it. The man left as soon the doctors confirmed that he actually had a son. 

Even though magic world is more progressive than muggle’s, Sheldon had problems with adaptation, especially during his first two years at Hogwarts, since the only person he knew that had connection with the wizard world was his father. What helped him to fit in later was joining multiples school activities like the Frog Choir, dueling club, the chess and quodpot team. However until this day, he pretty much feels more like a muggleborn sometimes than a half-blood. 

He was around 16 when he started the transition, at first it was muggle hormones, but after his mother wrote to Minerva McGonagall, head of the Gryffindor at the time, Sheldon was sent to St. Mungos to make his treatment all with potions/charms and with the monitoring of a healer. 

He quick got interest into transfiguration. It was natural and Sheldon was gifted on the subject. The wizard became a specialist on it, had a lot of work offers, including Gringotts, after he finished his master degree on college. Despises that, Sheldon decided to take the job as the transfiguration teacher at Hogwarts and was recently picked the Head of Gryffindor.

His biggest virtue as teacher is trying to be fair with with everyone, no matter what house or bloodstatus while his biggest flaw is to believe that his students are mature enough to take the right decison.

He is not really fond of the idea of having the Hogwarts Rejects on the castle, but is trying to keep his mind open about it.

Relationships

Minerva McGonagall - The headmistress has a special affection for sheldon that is reciprocal for the boy. He always comes for her when he needs help or just for a tea before the dinner. He has her as a second mother.

Niobe Carter-Stretton - Niobe was the capitain of the dueling club when Sheldon first joined it. He had a crush on her since then but never really let pass of that because of his own trust issues regarding women. They are still friends and he was her best man on her wedding with William, however, he is trying to keep his distance from Niobe, because he doesn’t want his crush to get in the way of their friendship

Hecate McLaggen - Hecate and Sheldon are friends, he has a lot of respect for her due her job with the Frog Choir and her talent with Charms. He helps her once in a while the choir, because Sheldon really enjoys her voice and believes she is a incredible singer. He never really knows if she is flirting with him or being nice. 

William Stretton - Sheldon and William have a rivalry going on. The transfiguration teacher don’t know what he made to piss William off, but he also can’t say that he is dying of love for him. Sheldon can’t stand the man, he thinks William is lazy and has double standarts for with the students. 

Gaia Goshawk -  Gaia never fails to intimidate Sheldon. He feels that she has something against him but prefers to keep to herself. To him, she is a bit too agressive but he can’t deny that she is actually good teaching DADA and helping the headmistress to run Hogwarts. 

Emily Royer - Different what looks like Emily and Sheldon are actually best friends. He got scared once noticing she used to keep staring at him during the meals, until one day she delivered him a potion that would works better for the ones he usually took. Since then, they had been friends, they can talk about anything cause they know the other won’t judge them

Neville Longbottom - Sheldon really admires Neville since his days as a student. He thinks that the older man is the epitome of what every Gryffindor should be. This feeling makes Sheldon feels intimidated by the former auror.
