Two idiots, alike in dignity and love and... very low emotional intelligence when it comes to each other.

Just look at them. Just look at these tiny idiots. They're both so in love but they don't know how to stop hurting each other by making the first move because they're waiting for the other person to do it.

Two men afraid of being alone but also afraid of being the one to reach out, afraid that reaching out will make them the one that was wrong and not wronged and that they will hurt more for forgiving...

Idiots took their sweet time but at least having mutual breakdowns in the park let them finally talk. Though I do, frankly, think Johnny was having more issues than Hai Yi... they're both idiots but at least now they're each other's idiots.

Abandonment issues my beloved. Hai Yi is so desperate for connections, for affection, for attention, for anything, because he has gotten so little in his life that he still clings the memory of a stranger from his childhood who showed him light and kindness. He has never had a memory to support that one, never had someone's kindness or love outweigh that single moment and now he has him again, now he has him as his side and he's going to keep him because this is what love means to him.

There is nothing but love. Just look at them! The love language of being cared for even when you're fully capable of doing it because the act of someone taking the time to care for you, to cook for you, to teach you, is the love you want so desperately.
