It's about time that I accept that some things, I'm just not going to record...so! Here are the minisode scripts featuring Hatov's mother and her relationship with Atreli!

This is probably a great time to mention that Vierai met Atreli when she was very young and while I'm not sure if this falls under grooming, he definitely takes advantage of her youth and naivete. Nothing explicit happens in these scenes but this is by no means portrayed as a healthy relationship and there are allusions to emotional abuse.
Vierai is an interesting character in that she's actually incredibly strong but she's also still very...young. She's been trapped in a plan she made when she was ~17 for nearly two decades, chasing after crumbs of success because she's still tied to a man who has the power to give her everything she wants/needs. She loathes him as much as she needs him and she's attached to him whether she likes it or not. She doesn't think her feelings matter if it means helping her people and she clearly expands that ideology in her relationship with Hatov.
She's a terrible mother, and she's never going to fix that (at least not any time soon). The damage that she's caused, in particular to Hatov, is still very real. But I think with Atreli gone, and her being back home in a community she hasn't been able to truly visit since Hatov was born, she might be able to start growing again. I actually have very high hopes for her character in the post InCo timeline.

“So... you’re saying that you’re... my... son? Even though we’re the same age?”
“Holdit, did you just say that you’re me and Lucea’s son?? Then does that mean we... no wait, then which one of us gave birth to you? Can such a thing happen- no wait, did you just say that Lucea and I get married???”
