What is Habatussauda?
Habatussauda or Black Seed or yet better known as Nigella Sativa is a miracle plant that usually grow in the Middle East and South Asia. For over the millennial, it was widely used by various ancient societies for culinary and was also widely used for medication and treatment.
Based from the Old Islamic Books; the Book of al-Tibb and the Book of al-Salam, indicates Habatussauda is known to contain the cure to all sickness except death. Nevertheless a well research article published by Utusan Malaysia in mid of 2019 highlighted that society cannot simply take assumption of the statement “cure to all sickness” literally. Hence the situation was being largely leverage by some stakeholders to manipulate this inaccurate understanding as a means to promote their businesses. Thus, as a Khalifah that was entrusted to be the care taker of this world; the olden Islamic Scholars highlighted the study on the Habatussauda is needed. From the Book of Fathul Bari, it is clearly seen that Habatussauda in fact was able to become the cure to various type of sickness (IKIM / Utusan, 2019).

Benefits of Habatussauda
Some of the key health benefits of Habatussauda include:
Rheumatoid Arthritis is a chronic inflammatory disorder that could affect more than just joints. A study published in 2016 indicates that Habatussauda was able to reduce the arthritis symptoms, blood levels of inflammatory markers, and the number of swollen joints.
Nasal Inflammation is a decease caused by an infection such as the common cold or flu. Due to the virus attack; it makes the lining of the nose or throat become inflamed, hence, causes sneezing and runny nose. A study that was published in 2011 indicates Habatussauda was able to reduce the presence of nasal congestion and itching, runny nose, and sneezing after two weeks. Another study published in 2018 indicates that Habatussauda could help in the treatment of sinusitis. Habatussauda has therapeutic potential in the treatment of the condition due to its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antihistaminic, immune-modulator, antimicrobial, and analgesic effects.
Habatussauda was being used to treat diabetic patient. It was found that Habatussauda was able to improve the blood sugar and cholesterol levels.

Another finding indicates due to Habatussauda antioxidant properties, it was able to enhance body immune system and aid in wound and cancer cell healing (CNN Indonesia, 2019).
