This morning we put on our game faces and went to the inaugural Habbot warehouse sale. We both love Habbot shoes, but as they're made in Italy, and have prices to reflect that, they're very special occasion purchases. We figured we might pick up some bargains if we went early enough. We arrived at the warehouse about ten minutes after the doors opened, where a free-for-all was already in full swing. Holy shit, these women love them some shoes! Nobody seemed prepared for just how many keen shoppers there would be - not even the staff realised how full on it was going to get! Personally, we had been expecting a couple of people sipping coffee and picking over things, but the place was packed with serious bargain hunters, a couple of whom got a little grabby, to be honest. Thankfully, we have a few tricks up own sleeves, and we were playing to win. Lise managed to get the very last pair of brown leather lace-ups in a 39 (a hotly contested battle), and Alice managed to snag the gold heels she'd been eyeing off a couple of seasons ago, but had previously written off as too expensive. Lise also picked up some fabulous glittery brogues, which Alice wanted so badly, but now gets to look at on Lise's (bigger) feet, so it's the next best thing. The Habbot sale runs for the rest of today, and all day tomorrow, at 2 Robert Street, Collingwood. Just don't bother if you're in the market for brown lace-ups in a 39... A&L xx
