Reposted from @orangutanalliance Today is #givingtuesday so show your love for #orangutans by being a foster parent to one of Orangutan Foundation International's adorable rescued orangutans! 🦧 OFI is an amazing nonprofit dedicated to #orangutanconservation and #habitatconservation. Established by the famous Dr. Biruté Mary Galdikas and associates in 1986, OFI operates Camp Leakey, an orangutan research center, they also run the Orangutan Care Center and Quarantine (OCCQ) facility which is home to 330 displaced orangutans, they help manage the Lamandau Wildlife Reserve, where rehabilitated ex-captive orangutans are released into the wild. 🦧 So what does it mean to be a foster parent at @orangutan_foundation? This means that you will be contributing to the care of displaced and orphaned orangutans during their #rehabilitation back to the wild. As a Foster Parent you will contribute to providing the medical, dietary and emotional care that the orangutans need to thrive. Each fostering purchase will come with an introduction kit to your Orangutan, plus your foster purchase is #taxdeductible and you will be sent an official tax acknowledgment letter from OFI. 🦧 What's inside the kit? Each #fosterparent will receive an Intro Kit that includes an adoption certificate, the biography of your foster orangutan, a recent photo, an information sheet about orangutans, and other promotional materials. Foster Parents receive an update on their foster orangutan after six months with a progress report and updated photo to learn how their orangutan is progressing, as well as a new photo at the end of the 12-month period. 🦧 In the picture you will see just three of the cute orangutan rescues who you could potentially foster!
