sidenote did you happen to read any of the codex-y stuff when you played? there's some interesting tidbits in there. like the fact that the scars are sentient hive insects only taking the shape of humanoid beings. which you know. creepy.

Yeah, we did. The soundwave-themed ‘magic’ they seem to be shooting for is interesting. Someone was clearly having fun with subwoofer and ferrofluid design cues.

The scars are creepy sure but what worries me is unless we get to actually interact with them on a level other than “killable mob #6″, they could be four teddy bears in a trenchcoat for all it actually matters. Warframe is a game with an arms-length relationship with story, but you still get a good feel for the factions thanks to NPCs who talk to you.

Hopefully past the demo Anthem will get a lot more in depth with all the stuff out there in its world.

40. Favorite voice actor?I don’t really pick out faves and such, but Nolan North has been in a few games I’ve played and he’s great so let’s go with that!

54. A sequel you really want?Oxenfree!! Journey as well perhaps and I’d want an AC game which covers Altair right after he becomes the mentor and studies the Piece of Eden, but ubisoft would ruin it most likely, so ehhh I can live without it...

lmao i always assumed she got cut off bc michelle tratchenberg wasn't a very good singer. her big solo later on being a dance number reinforced that suspicion.

Oh, yeah, that’s totally the Doylist reason for it. But I always like to use the Watsonian perspective and examine things in-universe as much as possible. 

In-universe, Dawn was already feeling alone and ignored, like she didn’t matter. And then, when it’s time for her big introspective solo, she ends up kidnapped and doesn’t get the chance to express her feelings? Yeah, that meshes with her character arc in season six. 

I love it when these sides mesh, the actors wanting certain things and it absolutely fits their character’s arc.

I know where they come from but they’re not in the game. Like people still forget about Seb despite the resources being there, but...they’ll remember those damn dots.

Idk I’m not fuming about it or whatever, just struck me as odd.

i recently started living with my mom again just because it's cheaper for both of us and we like living together and it's so dumb there's this weird stigma about living with your family in your twenties just because?

iit’s so stupid, and people treat it as some spectrum of how much of an adult you are even though the only big difference between living in an apartment and living with my parents is i’m far lonelier and i’m spending a hell of a lot more money. just about everything else i was already doing for myself

without npcs it feels more like a rust-clone kinda survival game with an expensive fallout reskin? and with less survival-ist elements bc as far as i know you don't have to eat/drink/sleep/etc?

Not sure about having to sleep (though you get a positive Well Rested perk just like Fallout 4 for being proactive about sleeping periodically), but you definitely have water / food meters that will deplete and require you to keep ‘em up.

Not sure if Rust has quests?  76 definitely has quests that clue you into the “story” if you’re able to listen to the holotapes while talking to your teammate (surprisingly hard for me to do because I get easily distracted with the hubby lol).  But their way to dish out the story is practically dependent on holotape audio, not unlike Bioshock audio diaries.  Problem with that concept though, is that in some ways it’s a huge spoiler... because since we know 76 has no human NPCs, the holotapes all seem to basically lead to someone who is either (A) dead or (B) a robot.

ok but like typically voice chat can be muted and you don't actually have to use it tho? no doubt bad shit can happen on voice chat in mp games but it's not like every single mp experience always has a dude spewing hate speech all the time lol.

I see your points but when the whole team is talking and coordinating (esp in games that don’t have text chats) it’s tough, and as someone who *really* doesn’t like confrontation in real life I just... blah. ‘s not for me. /shrug.
