Ethics for Dummies | Eleanor and Michael

It had been a long day and between pleasing Vicky and keeping on top of the neighbourhood he hadn’t managed to set aside time to work on Chidi’s ethics assignments. While he wouldn’t usually ask for help, this one was proving to be particularly difficult and so he decided it would be best to speak to someone else who may also be struggling to see if they could parse it out together.
After making his excuses to Vicky about going to test a new torture method, Michael made his way to Eleanor’s house, knocking on the door and waiting for her to open. “It’s me, Michael!” He added after a moment, realising she probably needed to know that.
‘ how can i say no? …can i say no? ’

“uh – well, yes, you can say no,” chidi answered, expression contorting into one that conveyed at once both confusion and slight disappointment. “and by your asking, i’m assuming that is your final answer. which is fine! it’s fine, i’m perfectly happy to wander the streets alone as i fruitlessly attempt to decide where to get dinner.”
