+ It all happened so QUICKLY . One minute, it had been just another day out enjoying time with her FRIEND . Something so un-out of the ordinary that she’d almost FORGOTTEN that she hadn’t ever been normal . Sipping away at her Slurpee , entirely ABSORBED in the conversation between herself and Cleo , she suddenly STOPPED mid-sentence, eyes WIDENING as images flashed in front of her eyes . Chaos , fire , explosions, all of them running at her at a MILLION MILES AN HOUR . And then as quickly as they appeared, the vision VANISHED from her eyes, leaving her at the table looking like a DEER IN THE HEADLIGHTS .

Anything in the name of having FUN , as long as her parents didn’t find out . What was the WORST that could happen ? No-one should actually answer that . “ What are you so AFRAID of ? “

"Mr. Wayne, do you want to play Clue with me? I tried teaching Ace how to play, but I don't speak Dog so fluently." ──  @haeress​ .

He was on his way to his room with the rest of the newspaper from this morning to read before lying down. A cup of coffee in his grip and his reading glasses on he takes off and hangs around his collar when he hears her call him over. 

A small smile perching on his lips when he turns and makes a beeline over towards her. Taking the seat across from her and having Ace paw his coffee mug to sniff the content until he remembers he doesn’t like coffee. 

“ No, I’m afraid he doesn’t speak fluent English either. “ He quips, lightly ; a smile following the tailend of his sentence. Setting the coffee down to take a look at the cover of the game. He’s played this twice, he thinks. Once with the league and the other for a date that went ruinously. “ You’ll have to remind me of the rules.” He continued, setting it down and picking up his coffee again to take a sip. 

“ I’m not very good at these sort of games. You might have more fun with Ace.”

"Why does EVERYONE keep trying to tell me that you're Batman? You're not Batman, right, Mister Wayne? If you were, would you tell me?" ─ @haeress .

Hm. It wasn’t as if the mysterious premises and conspiracies were all ill-conceived. What was it they said? Even a broken clock is still right twice in a day. Only that he was indeed Batman and informing Chloe was nowhere in the prerogative of Selina’s letter. 

And for her safety much like the rest of Gotham’s ─ his identity must remain a well kept secret. No matter the insistence of his enemies. 

“ I’m rather close friends with Batman, you see. “ He explained. A cover story that has saved him more than once, at least. “ He’s saved my life and the lives of my friends plenty of times. One could say I’m his favorite damsel in distress. With the unusual amount of kidnappings I manage to get into compared to your normal rich guy. “ He added, smiling. “ If I’m honest, I just think him and the Big Red and Blue from Metropolis has a bet on who can save me faster. “ 

He ruffles her hair casually ; as if it wouldn’t be distracting enough. 

“ That’s usually why people seem to think I’m Batman when I’m not. “

+ “ So ... you remember how I told you I had a SCHOOL that’s had this outstanding offer for me to attend ? “ Annie started, playing with her fingers as she looked up at Cleo, unsure if the Institute was exactly WELL-KNOWN in Gotham’s circle. “ ...I’m gonna start attending classes there pretty soon . “

selina's perched on a nearby rooftop. she flips down her goggles and the night lights up around her and she presses one of the buttons on the side, zooming in. the jewellery store was likely fortified by a laser grid, a security system, and pressure plates. she'd have to be careful, but it was nothing that she couldn't handle.

she scampers down the fire escape, jumping that last bit and landing lightly on her feet, gently absorbing the impact and she hears something behind her. she presses another button, unleashing those steel claws hidden in her gloves and hisses. ❛ show your face. i don't take kindly to strangers lurking in the dark. ❜
