Can y’all tell I’m having a lot of fun with the new chapter?
Your neighbors AU, Shirayuki needs help with her garden. Possibly some help with muscles?
She had a dead rose bush.
It was completely and utterly dead - un-salvageable at this point.
Shirayuki knew that in this weather it would be inevitable that she would lose a bush or two, but this had been the third one this week, and she didn’t know how much longer she would last if this continued to happen. Her lips setting into a determined line, she leaned down onto the crunchy, dry grass and started to investigate what in the world was the problem with her bushes.
Illness. That was the worst scenario.
She groaned and without really thinking, her hands wrapped around the base of the bush and tried to yank the bush out of the earth. She sat there for a few long moments before she managed to pull an inch out of the dirt, only stopping when she heard the teasing little laugh from the other side of her fence. Blinking, Shirayuki peered over the dead leaves to see Obi leaning against her fence - as he always did - dressed in his running clothes and with a half-cocked smile of his lips.
“Miss…” He practically purred his teasing little nickname for her. She was torn between hating that nickname and loving it - unsure if the heat in the pit of her stomach was from anger or something else entirely. He grinned and leaned closer. “I’m not entirely sure what you’re doing, but I don’t think it’s working out very well for you.”
Shirayuki flushed, hoping he couldn’t see the embarrassment on her pale skin, and she motioned towards the bush. “It’s sick, it needs to come out before it gets to the other bushes and infects them too.”
“Ah… then this makes sense.” Obi reached over the fence and unlatched the gate to let himself in. Shirayuki watched as he pulled closer, leaning down to look at the bush in front of her. Shirayuki could smell the scent of his sweat and dirt as he leaned closer to her, looking at the bush. It should have smelled strange and weird, but somehow, on him, it smelled… amazing. She could lose herself in the scent if she wanted to.
“Ah… you are aright. I can see how sick it is.” He looked over at her, his smile still of his lips. “But it looks like you’re having problems pulling it out. Did you want some help?”
Shirayuki suddenly had the unavoidable image of his muscles bunching in the sun, sweat rolling down his bicep and tricep as he shoveled the soil around her bush, and then used his brute strength to yank it from its home in the ground, and then-
She swallowed, suddenly feeling very, very thirsty.
“Y-yeah. If you don’t mind… I could use the help?”
He smiled and her heart skipped a beat.
“Of course, Miss.”

Today is my last final and of COURSE I woke up sick and didn't sleep at all
