Chapter 4: Sequential Irony and Poetic Justice

A subtle but impactful detail that I came to notice was the order in which all the characters die at the hands of the Man in Black. The deaths are ordered with Josh’s character as the first to die, Trevor’s character dying second, Owen’s character dying third, and Ben’s character as the last one to die.

Chapter Three: A Fight to the Death

Now that we have an understanding of machismo in the context of sexual dominance, we can now look at the other side of the coin which involves the imposing of physical dominance. Like the previous chapter, we will be focusing in on the polarizing attitudes on violence between Ben and Owen’s character, with the addition of another key character we will touch upon later on. An individual’s physicality can be imposed upon another through various ways, from something as simple as fighting a sibling at home, picking a fight at a bar, or even combat sports.
