I'll admit that it hurts like hell losing Jesse/Jay/half of Upstead as they were one of the reasons I was still watching, and I'm sure I'll be bitter for a while.... But I'm probably still gonna watch the show. I'm still holding out hope for Burzek and Kevin getting his well deserved promotion. And it kind of sucks feel scared to voice that because of how some people will react

This is why having an all or nothing mindset is bad for the fandom (the all being jay/upstead, nothing not having them, as in the show's only worth not cancelling if there's Jesse and without him it's not) because it makes people feel this way, and fandom should never suppress people from voicing things bc of reactions.

I'm sorry that it hurts, losing one of the reasons to watch a show always sucks. I'm kinda more fortunate in the sense Jay isn't a reason I watch the show (although I *am* going to miss him and do feel sad over it) but I'm very sympathetic to those who it was a big draw. And it sucks that fans like you for example are feeling nervous over still thinking about watching for the others because one of the best ways to cope with that hurt is focusing on the things that will still excite you.

I'm very much hoping that Kevin (+ burzek, honestly, but especially my boy Kev) will get the promotion, especially now we're losing a long term detective! And with how burzek left off, I'm very hopeful that things will work themselves out. It is kinda sad that we won't get happy burzek and upstead in a season together, but it doesn't make me less excited (after all burzek are my babies!)

Anyway I hope you do still watch, especially if Kevin gets that promotion because hopefully one good thing could come out of Jesse leaving and that's more screen time for Kev, and him being a newly minted detective would just make that sweeter. 💖

my all time favorite character: elena, caroline, damon

a character I used to like but now don't: katherine (post 5x11 I still.love her before that), alaric

a character who deserved better: tyler, elena!!!!

a character I'm indifferent about: matt, I like him but for me he's just there lol

a ship I've been able to get into: klaroline, stelena, bamon, beremy

a ship I've never been able to get over: delena, steroline, forwood, bonenzo, jeranna!!

a cute, low key ship: matt/caroline, I ship them now after stopping in s2 their cute!

an unpopular ship but I still enjoyed it: idk what ships aren't popular tbh lol matt/caroline, steferine, forwood, jeranna

a ship that was totally wrong and never should have happened: klaroline!!!!! they are my #1 not of all time I can't stand them like they make me so mad with the fanservice!

my favorite storyline/moment: I loved the story in s2 with klaus being introduced and searching for the moonstone and just everything because season 2 was my favorite season! also the buildup of delena was so beautiful and incredible!!

a story that never should've been written: initially I didn't like the sirebond with delena but it turned out to make them stronger in the end so the one I didn't like was them having katherine possessing elena's body in S5 I hated it!!

my first thoughts on the show: I thought it looked interesting and I knew nina dobrev was in it so I wanted to watch it based on that lol

my thoughts now: it was a very good show until S5 even though I loved s6 and s7-8 sucked but it's still.one of my favorite shows of all time and it gave me my #1 otp of all time so I'll always be grateful!!
