I think tvd making bonnie and damon friends was attempted character assassination towards bonnie. Why does damon’s underserving ass get to be paired up with good people he continuously hurt? And they just learn to brush off his actions to forgive the unforgivable?

I don't know what single reason any living person would have to like a character like Damon. Liking means they like these very things:

They tolerate abuse

They condone sexism

They absolve rape

They accept racism

They hate their own siblings

They love bad humor

They downplay,gloss over and double down on senseless violence

They glorify and justify pointless murder

They hate when other characters do the same things he does but tolerate it with him

They have a fascination with him only because of his looks

They project themselves onto his VICTIMS because they're into that sick shit

They are toxic and attack anyone that calls out his character for the sadistic psychopath that he is

They wash away his actions with baseless excuses that hold no weight

They ain't loyal and would cheat in a heartbeat

They don't follow the bro code

They love cheaters

They would totally fuck their spouse's family

They believe in victim blaming(Elena is the only case I go back and forth on)

They gaslight the fuck out of anyone

Nothing pisses me off more than TVD writers and fans having more grace for white male characters when they're just as badly written as the MOC and female characters

Just saw a youtube video about Damon being an abusive POS to everyone around him including Elena but some commenters prefers blame Elena for the actions of a 25 year old. Like babes let's focus on the topic at hand.

The fact that Damon Redemption is always triggered by and comes at the cost of the women around him. From Andy (his victim) dying so He can have a pity party to Elena's character being sacrificed to Bonnie having to form a friendship with him even though he caused the death of 2 of family. All that just for him to regress back into a POS every 30 episodes. Julie Plague and company must pay for their crimes.

don't say you hate dullena and then go and ship bamon. it is NOT bonnie's job to fix a murderous psychopath anymore than it's elena's. he r worded caroline and that's bonnie's friend too. a lot of the reasons dullena sucks are the reasons why bamon sucks too. don't @ me.

I can't get over how infuriating, absurd and unreasonable Damon's attitude towards Enzo and especially Bonnie is in 7x19. I'm not the defender of violence, but during every rewatch I just want to crawl through the screen and slap him.

You've got the "destined" pairing where people want them together because they're fated to be = Stelena / Elucien (of course, Elena actually liked Stefan whereas Elain does NOT like Lucien. AT ALL.)

The one where it doesn't even make sense but people ship it because they read waaaay too much into interactions that aren't even romantic, and somehow keeps coming up with headcanons that are already canon scenes for another ship? = Bamon / Gwynriel

The one that clearly has insane chemistry, and is all "fuck destiny", has many romantic and friendship moments, everyone around them can clearly see SOMETHING between them, to the point that even Stefan/Lucien can tell and it makes them uncomfy because they have to acknowledge that there is something there, they're touch her/him and you die/saved each other, hands them something they wouldn't trust with anyone else, spouts goddamn poetry to the other, etc. etc. = Delena / Elriel

And guess which TVD couple was endgame? 🤭

You have fans who also can't spell Gwyn's name, just like TVD fans.

Stefan = Stephan/Steven

Damon = Demon 💀 (this could be intentional but considering they can't spell Stefan or Elena's names either, I'm not sure.)

Elena = Elaine/Elain

Sadly, there may be a few that are, but to blanket statement a whole group of people of something horrible/disgusting because they simply don't like a character is wild.

That being said, the only difference for me personally, is that I actually don't care for Gwyn at all, Bonnie was great. Was she my fave? No. Did I dislike her? No. I wanted her to get her happy ending too.

Gwyn? I forgot she existed after I read ACOSF, if she never appeared again, I would not care.
