Haikusa 'Ash to Ash' Scarf
Base Material : linen 100% Dyeing : 枯半色 This is a large-format scarf produced exclusively for the Kyoto exhibition. The fabric—of which only about one or two garments’ worth could ever be made and which had been sleeping in the archives of Haiirogusa’s atelier—was buried in soil for two weeks and then dug back up. Areas that had been eaten or affected by microorganisms were carefully repaired and mended, after which the piece was dyed using karehanshoku, a four-stage dyeing process that is not accepted as a custom order. via signal_0904
