He's firstly usually very blunt, but somehow, you grew to love that part of him. It bothered you at first if you should ask his opinions on different date ideas, or sometimes he was just trying to sneak in a compliment for yourself if you wore a new outfit or a sandal that really suited your style.
You later realized you were worrying about literally nothing, he didn't always open his mouth and shower you with overflowing compliments, or show you off to anyone, but you never felt the need for him to do so.
It was because he was earnest, he gave you literally princess treatment and he was shocked one day,
"I wish I could like you know openly ask your opinions on certain things, but I'm afraid you would find it too clingy or annoying." That one line was sending your body to a nervous breakdown, it was as if oxygen could no longer be supplied to your cells.
For a moment Ushijima said nothing, but then, "I don't think that about you, you look beautiful... in every outfit you wear, even in your pajamas when we are watching movies together, I should have been more honest in letting you know how I feel. I'm not used to this."
You couldn't help but, let your lips curve to a smile of relief and the occasional squealing whenever you read romance novels.
Ushijima's love language was gift-giving and actions, he would support you like an actual iron wall, and he was the responsible one,
He knew how to have fun and goof around, but he also knew where to draw the line,
He's insanely protective, which is another part of Ushijima that makes you blush, he would not stand you getting bullied, or if someone takes their teasing too far.
He has the best hugs to offer you, you feel him as comfort, it's because you know that he is honest, and really kin, if it is a bad day he'll ask you what he can do for you, but, if you need time for yourself, he understands. But, before the day ends, he'll call you and ask you if you're alright again.
You never will question his loyalty. His authenticity. His awkwardness sometimes makes it hard to control your giggles, which gets you death glares, that you've never taken seriously.
He's the kind of man, who would make good husbands.
