43 - falling in love with their best friend’s partner auIts just angst and more angst.

It’s slow and even harder to admit to.

It would be easier if he were single or if she hadn’t gone out with the unspeakable who broke her trust. Maybe instead of taking him for granted and not telling him she needed more time, everything would be okay.

Or maybe if she hadn’t introduced Raven and Bellamy, she would have him and Raven wouldn’t.

Accidentally opening the door to them in bed wasn’t as bad as when she saw Raven crying and Bellamy comforting her because that used to be her. She had that love and now it was gone and was being given to someone who accepted it.

“Clarke, we’re getting engaged!” 

The words repeated in her brain for days and she couldn’t get the look Octavia gave her when the news arrived out of her brain. She wanted to scream and cry. She wanted to tell Bellamy that she was ready and she always loved him. She wanted to tell Raven that she was sorry, but she couldn’t keep living a lie for their happiness, but its exactly what she did.

“Took you long enough.” She said with a smirk. Everyone’s eyes focused on her but quickly reverted back to excitement and laughter. Bellamy’s were the only that stuck to her with the same look he always gave her lately, that Clarke could never quite decipher. She smiled back at him and she felt the tears crawling into her eyes so she turned and excused herself for the bathroom.

She didn’t cry that night. She did shed a tear when they were pronounced husband and wife. She told herself it was a tear of happiness as she stood as maid of honour clapping them down the aisle.

She caught the Raven’s bouquet when it was thrown at her and Raven proclaiming,

“You deserve some love Griffin.” And when Clarke’s eyes darted to Bellamy, who had that face he always had when he looked at her all she could think was maybe I don’t. But Clarke laughed all the same and gave her toast to the couple with her 8th champagne glass, reminiscing her memories and making herself cry for the wrong reasons and too much alcohol, that she played off as happiness like she always did.

They lasted three years and when Bellamy turned up at her apartment she was the rock he needed, just like he was too her.

But maybe this time, Clarke didn’t let him slip between her fingers this time.

1. What would you name your children? For a boy: Nathan! Not sure about a girl name yet, but the name Nathan for a boy for sure!

2. Favorite character in a book? I really love Four from Divergent. 

3. Which movie did you watch countless times? A Knight's Tale, I don't know why that movie was the first one to pop into my head but I love it and I've seen it a bunch of times. 4. What’s your catch phrase? I want to say: Trouble in Paradise, but I'm not sure if that counts. 5. Three things you would take with you when a zombie apocalypse happens?
