Haissem - Aeon Citadel

Haissem's twelfth and, according to the author, final album "Aeon Citadel" is, at least, a sharp 180-degree turn from what has been done on the previous album "Pure Devil As Thou Art". The frenzied wildness and whirlwind wildness of the previous work was replaced by a cocktail of melodic black and dark metal and that is not surprising for a project that constantly changes its style and musical vector. The new album sound has transformed Haissem almost beyond recognition. Everything is polished and crystal clear. A powerful guitar sound combined with wild vocals in the style of Fernando Ribeiro from Moonspell sweeps absolutely everything in its path, leaving your ears no chance. The dramatic opener "The Authenticity Of Pious Disdain" with an ambient outro instantly immerses you in the "Citadel of Eternity". This is followed by a very dynamic and cheerful "Alleged Insight" with a very noticeable influence of the Swedish melodic death flavored with an atmospheric solo a la Dissection 1995. The diverse "Ablaze" will not let the listener get bored for a second with tempo changes, aggressive riffing and a hypnotic solo at the end of the track. The icing on the cake in the final track form "Alien God Emanation" becomes the entire album's quintessence and apogee , bringing down a flurry of all of the above on the listener. Strongly recommended for adepts of melodic passages, powerful sound and non-standard arrangement solutions.
