Notes: We've reached the finale! Thank you all so much for reading and for leaving comments. I hope you've enjoyed this fic as much as I've enjoyed writing it. In case you're interested, there's a playlist for this fic. You can find it here. This is not the last time we'll see Reika as she'll likely make an appearance or two in the other parts of this series (when I finish writing them lol) Warning: the warnings for pseudo-incest come majorly into play in this chapter.

Reika wakes slowly, as if dragging herself from the sludge of a dream. Everything feels heavy. Her eyes, her limbs, her head. The exhaustion from discovering her sister’s betrayal and the night with the brothers leaves her feeling unable to even move.
Ran’s arm is slung over her waist as he lies on his stomach, blanket resting half way down both of their chests. Rindou isn’t on either side of them. If he’s gone, it’s her best chance to leave this situation. She tries not to think about the fact that first person she’s ever had sex with isn’t one…but two criminals who are brothers. Virginity is a concept but it’s still a strange realization to have.
Her parents would be so disappointed.
The thought is enough to make her move. Reika slides out from under Ran’s arm slowly. He groans, reaching for the loss of warmth, but he settles back quickly. It takes longer than she likes to get up, to search across the room for her clothes. Her shirt isn’t to be found. Her underwear is ripped. She’s forced to use one of their shirts and go commando.
She walks out of the bedroom slowly. The room is dark, the black out curtains live up to their name and she stumbles more than a few times before she gets out into the hallway. The light is nearly blinding.
Reika still doesn’t know where her bag or phone are, but it’s fine. She’s already prepared to walk without her things as long as she gets out of here. She can get a new phone, a new bag, a new everything to go with everything else she lost in her room.
She makes it to the the washroom which was a growing necessity before finding her way to the same living room where it all started. It looks like a disaster. She can see her shirt crumpled on the floor from where it was thrown. The remnants of a night that started unwanted and yet coerced into…
“Thought you’d sleep longer.”
Reika nearly jumps out of her skin at the voice breaking the silence. “You’re here.”
Rindou looks up at her, unimpressed from where he’s leaning against the kitchen counter. He’s wearing a pair of boxers and not much else aside from the glasses that look as if they’re about to slide down his nose. “Where d’you think you’re going?”
“Home.”
“Tch,” he pushes himself off of the counter and moves towards her. Reika steps back towards the door. “You forget? You are home.”
“I don’t live here.”
He shrugs as he looks around. “You will. We’ll make room.”
“I have a house.”
He gives her a look, over the glasses he’s wearing. “You want us living there?”
“I don’t even want you visiting,” Reika snaps, wincing slightly at the sound. “You’re being ridiculous.”
“No, baby, you’re just stubborn. Don’t make me wake up Ran. He’s a fucking menace without enough sleep.”
“I need to go home.”
“Then I’ll go with you. Wait right fucking there.” He points at her where she’s standing. “You move and you won’t like the consequences.”
“Where’s my phone?” she asks before he gets to the hall towards the bedroom.
“With your shit by the door.”
Reika moves without thinking, looking and finding her bag that she had dropped on the floor after finding the mess of her room. It takes a few moments before she manages to find her phone in the chaos of everything that’s in it. It has about ten percent of battery left and her screen is filled with notifications of messages and missed calls.
She messages Kikyo first.
A quick note telling her that she’s with the brothers, they’re not letting her go alone but she’s going to head home. That her sister did something unforgivable but that she’ll contact her later. That she’s okay.
The next was a text to Kanae that simply says “I failed.”
“If we’re going out, we’re getting breakfast.”
Reika turns, looking back to see Ran yawning and running a hand through his hair as he scratches his stomach. “You’re awake.”
He smiles, slow and soft as if he’s not one of the people keeping her here because of the threats they’ve made, explicit and otherwise. “Earlier than I like to be up, sweetheart. You sure I can’t get you back to bed?”
Reika takes another step back towards the door.
Ran sighs before yawning again. “Let me get ready. You should wash up too.”
“I’ll shower at home.”
He gives her a look that tells her he’s going to say the exact thing that Rindou did.
“Already told her.” Rindou says as he steps out of the bedroom. “You coming with us?”
“Yeah, go get breakfast. I’ll be ready by the time you get back.” He looks at Reika again. “You sure you don’t wanna get cleaned up with me? Rin will bring food.”
“I’d rather go home now.” Ran’s expression darkens at her response.
“Come on, baby,” Rindou moves towards her and wraps an arm around her waist. “Let’s get coffee. Nii-chan will be in a better mood when we get back and he’s less sleep deprived.”
“I don’t want coffee. I want to go home!”
Rindou’s grip tightens on her waist before he suddenly turns and grips her jaw, fingers digging into her cheeks. Her heart hammers in her chest as her eyes widen in fear. She keeps forgetting.
“We’re giving you a lot of grace, baby. Stop fucking around or that’s gonna stop. You want it to stop?”
Tears build up in her eyes and Reika tries to shake her head. “N-no.”
“Thought so. So stop being an ungrateful bitch and play nice.”
“Rin,” Ran’s voice cuts through the moment, his tone like steel.
Rindou lets go of her with just enough force to make her stumble back. “She needs to learn.”
“She will.” Ran runs a hand through his hair, looking less than impressed and suddenly more tired than he did before. “Our sweetheart, our darling fucking imouto is going to accept her place with us. One way or another.”
🎨
She’s made to sit in the back of the car with Ran after everything is said and done. Rindou got breakfast and Reika was forced into the shower with Ran. He treated it as if he was spoiling her, washing her hair and leading her through his skin care regime, acting like he wasn’t holding her hostage with his threats.
She’s dressed in their clothes, ignoring how Ran is already looking up designer clothes and commenting on what he thinks will look good on her. Instead, she focuses on responding to Kikyo and Kanae in a group chat that she starts in order to tell them everything that’s happening.
It takes both Kanae and Reika to convince Kikyo not to show up at Reika’s home. She won’t have anything happen to her best friend.
“Come on, sweetheart,” Ran murmurs to her as the car comes to a stop. His hand slowly retreats from her thigh. “We’re here.”
Reika follows slowly, not taking the offered hand as she slips out of the car behind him. She hears Ran chuckle to himself before he wraps an arm over her shoulder and tug her closer to him. She doesn’t try to pull away.
Rindou soon covers her other side and the two of them lead her towards her house. “Nervous?” he teases softly.
“Yes,” Reika admits because she has no reason to lie. She hopes Seira isn’t here. Even after everything, Reika doesn’t want her sister to get hurt by these men. Even if this is all her fault.
“Don’t be. I told you, we’re gonna take care of you and deal with this shit. Your ours now.”
“I don’t want to be.”
“We didn’t ask,” Rindou ends the growing tension. They move just enough so she can open the door. Rindou walks in first, then Reika and Ran who closes the door behind them.
“Stay quiet for a minute,” Ran murmurs in her ear before he moves, blocking her from the rest of the house. He calls out. “Seira?”
Rindou grins as he shifts to prevent Reika from being seen by anyone who might be home.
“Seira?” Ran calls out again. “Your door was unlocked.”
There’s a thunderous sound of footsteps coming down the stairs until Reika can hear her sister trying not to pant as she slides in to the foyer. “Ran!” She sounds upbeat and not at all concerned about where Reika’s been. “What are you doing here?”
“I’m here for you.”
Reika is about to argue, to tell Seira to run, but Rindou squeezes her hand in warning. She knows it’s a threat. She hates the way she falls silent, clenching her eyes shut as she silently prays that they get out of this alive.
“Really?” the hope in Seira’s voice makes Reika’s throat tighten. She tries to move, to tug her hand free so she can warn her sister. Rindou lets go, but reaches around her and covers her mouth with his hand, still keeping her hidden behind Ran. He almost makes the move look effortless and tears build in Reika’s eyes as she’s unable to make a sound. How does Seira not see her?
“When’d you cut your hair?”
“The other day,” she hears Seira say. “I liked how it looked on Reika and if she can pull it off, I can do it better.”
Ran laughs. It sounds cold. “Better than our Rei?”
“Your Rei?” Seira asks. Reika’s not sure if the incredulousness in her tone is the disbelief that they’re claiming her when she’s her twin, or because they’re not claiming Seira.
“Your attempts at creating a subpar imitation of her might be the funniest thing I’ve ever seen. What do you think Rin?”
“She could only dream of nearing our girl’s quality. That why you trashed her shit? Can’t stand the jealousy?”
“Excu—” Seira cuts herself off. “You know what? This isn’t worth it. Get the fuck out of my house!”
Ran’s hand snaps forward, backhanding Seira across the face. Reika’s heart feels like it stops as she hears her sister fall. She grabs the back of Ran’s shirt, trying to keep him in place, keep him from hurting Seira anymore.
“Your house?” Ran kneels, pulling his shirt from her grasp and revealing her. Rindou still has his hand over her mouth and Seira’s eyes go wide at the sight of her. “Your in our sister’s house. It’s in her name, isn’t it? Did you try to steal that from her too?”
“What?”
“Don’t play coy,” Rindou glares down at her. “You tried to take her money. You destroyed our girl’s shit. Our shit. What’s hers is ours.”
Reika moves, trying to pull Rindou’s hand away from her mouth but his grip tightens until it feels like it’s going to leave bruises on her cheeks. “Stop!” she tries to say but it’s muffled.
Rindou moves, pulling her back into his chest. He leans in and kisses her cheek. “Shhh, baby. Let us do this.” He presses his lips against her neck. “It’ll be over soon. Unless you want us to…make her pay.”
Reika shakes her head. She doesn’t want that. Not for Seira, not for anyone.
“Here’s what you’re gonna do,” Ran says, reaching out to tilt Seira’s face up to look at him. “The next moment you step foot in one of our clubs, you loose a tooth, then a finger, than a hand…”
Seira starts crying and Reika knows that her sister has finally clued into exactly what type of men these Haitanis are. “Yo-you don’t mean that! You—Rei!”
“Don’t fucking look at her,” Ran yanks Seira by the hair, forcing her gaze back.
“She’s my sister!” Seira has always been possessive of her things, but usually that didn’t include Reika. Not like this.
“She’s ours now.”
Ran casts a glance back and grins at Rindou before he turns back to Seira. “You try to take anything of hers again and I’ll give you to a friend of mine. You think I’m being cruel? You haven’t seen anything like what he’s capable of.” He pushes himself up to his feet, letting go of her. “The only reason we don’t kick you into the street is because we know it’ll break our Reika’s heart, so you can live here and Rin’s gonna check in. Make sure all of her stuff is here. In one piece.”
Rindou finally lets go of her and Reika gasps for air, trying not to cry. “Go get your stuff, baby.” He pushes her towards the stairs.
She stumbles, catching herself before moving quickly as Ran moves after her. Rindou stays by the door, by her sister that she tries to move towards but Ran directs her forward.
It feels like a fever dream as she’s led upstairs. Her mind is focused on what could be happening with Seira downstairs, alone with Rindou. She can barely hear Ran looking over her toiletries as they stop by the bathroom.
“We’ll buy you better. This shit is cheap. I think I smelt something similar in the brand I like. I’ll show you.”
She walks away as he keeps talking, barely pausing as she enters her room. The stuff is still broken. It cracks under her feet and her breath hitches as she moves. Ran’s voice gets louder as he follows her and she moves without thinking.
Reika picks up a ribbon, trying to swallow back a broken sob as she picks her favourite sweater from the end of her bed. There’s paint on it. She doesn’t know if she can get it out but she’ll try. She has to try.
Ran falls silent as he watches her collect scraps from the floor and her closet. She shifts the desk forward, reaching behind it to pull out a couple of canvases. Another move and she pulls out a pallet and case from a drawer. When her arms are finally full, she faces him. Tears streak down her cheeks as she looks at him.
“Are you ever gonna let me come back?”
“Outside of the house, you won’t have any need to come back. We’ll give you everything you want.”
“I want to stay here, in my home.”
Ran gives her a look, tilting his head slightly. His gaze darkens. “Repeat that.”
It’s a threat. Another warning.
Reika’s chest shakes as she tries to breathe and not sob. She takes a deep breath. Then another. And another. It feels like the world is collapsing around her.
“Shhh,” Ran curls an arm around her, pulling her into his chest. “Just listen, sweetheart,” he presses a kiss to her hair. “Just be good for us and we’ll be good to you, okay? Don’t worry. We’ll take care of you.”
She doesn’t want to cry into his chest, but every breath she takes buries her further into his scent and he’s holding her firmly. It somehow calms her and she hates it. She hates that every time she’s near the destruction of her room, of herself, it’s Ran who’s comforting her.
“Come on,” he presses another kiss into her hair and wraps his arm around her waist. “Let’s go home.”
🎨
Seira is still on the ground when they get back to the front door. Rindou is smirking, staring down at her as he kneels in front of her before he looks up as they enter. It’s obvious he said something to her because Reika is no longer the only one in the room who is crying. Twins in every way except where it matters.
Ran barely stops as he leads her to the front door, past her sister without saying goodbye. Reika digs in her heels, turning towards her sister even as Rindou moves to step in place behind her.
Seira meets her eyes.
It takes a single moment for them to synchronize, to read each other so clearly that they’re almost one again. Reika sees in her sister the apology she’s been desperately waiting for, but it’s too late. Neither of them will ever be the same because of a choice Seira made. The ripple effects of a desire have turned into a tsunami that is leaving them both drowning.
Her twin faces that now and Reika can see the realization, the fear and the utter defeat she feels in Seira’s eyes. There are regrets there so strong it nearly chokes them both.
It’s too late.
Rindou moves, breaking their eye contact as he steps between them. Ran pulls her out the door. There is no going back.
These brothers will never let her.
