9/11

I was in the fourth grade when nine eleven happened. I think it's one of those tragic events where people remember exactly where they were when it happened. I was in the fourth grade. We were learning math and then all of the sudden a teacher rolled a TV into class after two teachers spoke. My fourth grade class watched the entire thing on the news the entire day.

Fast forward to the present where it has been sixteen years since it happened. I was speaking to students today about their experiences with 9/11. It just kind of shocked me a little at some of the memories these kids had yet they were three/four years old. Some of their parents worked downtown and remember their parents being sent home early. Some remember their parents speaking to each other on the phone.

Again, this is definitely one of those tragedies no matter who you are or what you were doing time stopped for a bit and the country was in shock.

Val gets a job

No complaints so far. Training today was really overwhelming. I had to really discover for myself what would be my job bc I found a lot of the information really cluttered. First, we have bad cop nurse that told all of us horror stories about how we will kill all of our clients if we don't triple check what we are giving them, if we don't document what we put down we will be terminated, and if we steal meds we will go to jail. Two slides later we break for lunch Next, we have good cop nurse that actually gets through the 92 slide PowerPoint. Learned a wealth of information and she tells us we will all be fine as long as we follow procedures and use common sense. After regaining my confidence in the fact that I can actually do this job the training is over and I am just left with my thoughts of meds are serious. This job is serious business.

Graduate in 8 days!! I have so much to do!! Social work friends advice for me would be awesome!! I'm nervous, excited, but at the same time please employ me.

I need opinions! Is being called an old ball and chain a good thing or a bad thing? I don't know whether to he offended or not? My boyfriend's friend referred to me as the old ball and chain and I don't know whether to take it as we've been together for a long time, or I'm making everyone miserable? Let me know if I'm overthinking. Xo val

Me: Why do you say that??

Random Kid: *starts making fun of anaconda*

Me: Well, my anaconda does want you to get a better grade in math soooo get back to work.

Random Kid: *speechless*

I don't know how to not keep things bottled up. It's a problem.

Look

I know that my mom and I don’t get along 70% of the time but she17;s still my mom. When I hear that her job is mistreating her in the sense that she is feeling disrespected by her job and not taking her medical issues into account that pisses me off. My mom has been through a lot, has worked many places, and has been disrespected by many of those places but has gotten through it. She is physically unable to do her job bc of her knee issues and they treat her like dirt. I just want to help but I am powerless. We are powerless. This is an awful feeling.
