the terms of her vassalage seem extremely lenient. afaik the typical deal is “you get internal autonomy but i defend you and your international relations go through me” but she has a royal navy that she evidently controls and it isn’t ceremonial either because when yechusta acts up she goes to threaten her with it. which also means that nuevas baleares is calling rowmansland to tell her she needs her to threaten yechusta with her royal navy and that hakensaqi lets her do that. which means she’s allowed some international relations. so her terms are probably more like “as long as it doesn’t conflict with my goals (retaining use of your coastline and not pissing off makamazuh or mundaberria) do whatever the hell you want”.
of course she initially sought his suzerainty because she needed someone to govern her so i imagine he was a lot more involved in her politics at the outset since he had to be. now that things have stabilized hes more hands off.
being the vassal definitely like. immediately deleted most of her british superiority complex. he is more capable than you and he always was.
there was no wedding ceremony just the signing of papers. she was embarrassed.
they have an actual ceremony in 2101 on their 161st anniversary (the year the amount of time theyd spent under each other’s control was equal). no other countryspirits were invited. rowmansland’s 11 reservations were invited but not under any obligation and none of them came which like, yeah whatever it doesn’t really concern them. their capitals did the officiating and some of the bigger cityspirits were there too. and then human political figures and the king and everything.
sorry so much of this is rowmansland focused lmfao i like women and also british people exist irl while hakensaqi people don’t so i just have more to go off of for her
being able to fly means thinking in 3D so hakensaqi has a much better intuitive understanding of space than your average person. hes also very good at memorizing landmarks and constructing maps in his head. this mostly means he always finds rowmansland’s keys when she loses them.
he can carry her into the air. only for short periods of time because yk it’s twice the work but he does do that quite often.
I STILL DONT HAVE GOOD NICKNAMES FOR THEM. WHAT DO THEY CALL EACH OTHER. THEYVE BEEN MARRIED FOR 2 CENTURIES THERES NO WAY HE STILL SAYS ALL 3 SYLLABLES OF HER NAME TO HER EVERY DAY. AND HER ALL 4 SYLLABLES OF HIS.
