reasons to watch sirius the jaeger:
ENFP and humanitarian concerns
Speaking of ENFP having indifferent and cold reaction toward Russian invasion of Ukraine situation. I also don't have strong emotional reaction toward the situation (even after witnessing first hand accounts of people getting displaced), for me such is the way of war. And we all know Putin will invade Ukraine with or without casus belli (and while this time he has casus belli, it was so weak and irrational that he could've done it without one at all). So I don't feel like Putin is 'evil' or 'bad' so to say. I don't agree with him, but I have to respect him for having the gut to actually invade with force (it could very well backfire on him politically, it's not a popular decision but he still powers through it, that takes courage).
I don't even moralize this situation, what I think about war is that it is costly and often unnecessary. To win the war you have to establish supply line, setting up administration (which takes time and resources) to consolidate their military gain, pacifying the area of any possible incursion and establishing more facility or administrative body to extract resources from the area, and that if we assume the war is won. There is still a matter of manpower being poured in wastefully (any dead soldier means one less human resource that contributes to the economic growth) as well as military investment in forms of weapons, transportation and supply line. All of which are really expensive. That's why I don't want war if possible, it is too wasteful.
People will die in the war, often with atrocities but that's just what the war is. People dying for the political whim of one person on the top balcony. There is only two things people can do, flee to safety or fight back, either choice leads to losses. Nobody wants war, but if it comes to your doorstep, pondering, complaining and raging won't solve anything. Either you fight back or you flee, what we need is solution and pondering and theorizing are useless here. Instead of pondering things, complaining and raging, what we have to do is taking a step to solve the problems at hands. Are we going to flee? How can we flee? Where to go? How to get there safely? What's the necessary documents? How much money we have to have on our hands? Or if you are going to fight, how we can gain the advantage? How we can survive and turn the situations around? How can we disrupt the supply line?
It's not comparable, but I was in a mob where police used weapons against unarmed civilians once. I wasn't angry at them for doing their job (though I don't understand how people can forsake their conscience so easily to do as they are commanded). What I did was organizing retreating route for people around me as well as trying to do what I can to get us out of there safely. I don't really buy what my friends said about humanitarian and ideological concerns but I do agree with them about the economic and political side of things. I don't do feelings much or moralize. I prefer to just say things as it is and plan on how we can realistically accomplish it. Like a matter of democracy, I told my friend "either you take a firm step to seize the power or you don't, there is no in between. Peaceful revelation is only as useful as populace at large. If people are still divided like this, it's not going to work".
If anything, I wish I could be more humanitarian and moralistic instead of being this indifferent.
So, what do you think about this? What's your reaction toward this situation and is there any EFP you know who react and think similar to me? (And I'm ENFP since I have zero Ti)
This is a logical, sensible, and practical take on war, focusing on what is immediately necessary to do, on the costs and problems involved in taking over a country, and in resolving a problem with direct action -- you are focusing on impersonal elements ("any dead soldier means one less human resource that contributes to the economic growth" <- STRONG Te) over the emotional dynamics, which means you are a thinking type and not a feeling type. There's no extremism in your Te use (as happens with FP types who become emotionally engaged); it is your first line of defense. I feel fairly confident you are a TJ, and your limited emotional reactions are normal for a low Fi type. (I would look at ESTJ > ISTJ > INTJ as possibilities.)
This is the kind of detached rationality I can only DREAM of having from an envious low Te standpoint, and my Te is good for an EFP.
