The truthful person (al-ṣādiq) is :

That when he contemplates he is admonished, when he is silent he reflects, when he speaks he is reminded, if he is prevented [from something] he is patient, if he is presented [with something] he is grateful, if he is tried he recalls, if [some act of] ignorance was committed against him he forbears, if he gains knowledge he becomes humble, if he teaches he is gentle and if he were asked he expends [his efforts in answering]. He is a healing for the aspirant, an aid to the seeker of guidance, an ally of truth, a repository of righteousness, easily pleased regarding his own rights and is zealous regarding the rights of God. His intentions are better than his actions and his actions are more effective than his words. His abode is the truth, his sanctuary is shyness, his knowledge is scrupulousness and his witness is reliable. He has insights from light that he sees with, realities of knowledge which he speaks with and evidences from certainty which he expresses. Those who reach this are only those who have strived against their own souls for God, the Exalted’s sake (jāhada nafsahu li Allāh taʿālā), made their intention sincere for His obedience, feared God secretly and openly, reduced their hopes, ‘buckled the belt’ of caution and ‘set sail with the wind’ of salvation ‘upon a sea’ of supplication.

Al-Muḥāsibī

الصادِق : إذا نَظرَ اعتبر ، وَإِذَا صَمَت تَفكَر ، وَإِذَا تكلَّمَ ذَكَرَ ، وَإِذَا مُنِعَ صَبَرُ ، وَإِذَا أعطي شكرَ ، وَإِذَا ابتُلي استرجع ، وَإِذَا جهل عليه حلم ، وَإِذَا عَلِمَ تَوَاضَعَ ، وَإِذَا عَلَّمَ رَفَعَ ، وَإِذَا سَئل بَدَلَ . شفاء للقاصد ، وعَونَ لِلمُستَرشدِ ، حَلِيف صدق ، و كهف برّ ، قرِيب الرضا في حَق نَفسِهِ ، بعيد الهمّة في حق الله تعالى . نيته أفضل من عَمَلِهِ ، وَعَمَلَه أبلَغ مِن قوْلِهِ ، مَوَطنه الحق ، وَمعَقِلَهُ الحَياء ، وَمَعلُومَهُ الوَرَع ، وَشَاهِدُهُ الثقَةً ، له بصَائرُ مِنَ النُورِ يُبْصِرُ بِهَا ، وحَقائق مِنَ العِلْم ينطق منها ، وَدَلائلَ مِنَ اليقين يُعَبّرُ عنها . وإنما يُوَاصل بذلك مَن جَاهَدَ لله تَعَالَى نَفسَه ، و استقامت لطاعتِهِ نِيَتَهُ ، وخَشِي الله في سرَهِ وَعَلانِيَتِهِ ، وَقَصّر الأمل ، وَشمرَ مِئزر الحَذَرِ ، وأقلع بريح النَّجَاةِ في بَحرِ الابتهال

Haqqani: The Defender of Truth [10/09/20]

When truth comes falsehood goes away, the truth is the word of Allah ﷻ and the sayings of our Holy Prophet ﷺ. In the end even if years pass the truth will prevail, the ending is important. People get fooled by things that are false and follow it, they are content with injustice and falsehood. While the truth is the word of Allah ﷻ, injustice and falsehood are the works of shaytan. Therefore, be with the truth, do not deviate from the truth. The truth (Haqq) is beautiful if everybody gets their rights, everybody is happy. When you do not accept the truth, justice, and the rights then there is no peace, comfort and barakah (blessings). Humankind is fooled no matter how much they may be educated or read; people can still be fooled. In fact, they are deceived more because they have arrogance, when arrogance enters a person it deviates them from the truth and justice.The truth (Haqq) is the word of Allah ﷻ when it comes, the rest have no say. Therefore, be with the truth even if the whole world comes against you, there should be nothing that affects you. [However], if you are with those who [promote] injustice and falsehood then your end will not be good. Allah ﷻ says it clearly and clarifies it, but humankind follows itself, its ego and shaytan. Such that it looks nice and attractive to him. May Allah ﷻ make us amongst those who are with the truth, Mawlana Shaykh’s QaddassAllahu Sirrahu title was ‘Haqqani’- ‘The Defender of Truth.’ Until the end until we die, insha’Allah we are Haqqanis and we are with the truth.

Murshid (Shaykh)

Spiritual Guide

The Murshid is a True Inheritor of the Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. After having been taken to the Divine Presence during his ascension the slave has been returned, by Allah, to the creation to guide and perfect the still imperfect ones. He was taken up as a slave and returned as a slave and Murshid. The qualities of an authentic Murshid are those of his own Master and Teacher, the Holy Prophet ﷺ himself. The sacred connection between a Murshid and his murids was established in Pre-Eternity and continues into Eternity. Because of the Murshid’s own spiritual attainments his murids have the possibility of becoming travellers. The perfect Murshid is of The People of Blame and his murids sometimes also attain Perfection. For the murid, the Murshid is one of the ‘signs on the horizons’, the outward of his own inward. What he sees in the mirror of his Murshid is a reflection of what is within his own self. He may also see within the Murshid the good qualities and excellent character traits which are yet latent in himself.
