I was looking through Jaybae's page on the Warriors Wiki and

She's comparing Jake/Talltail with Featherstorm/Hal. She's explicitly comparing Jake and Talltail with a pair of mates. Holy shit

According to the Warriors Wiki Mapleshade's Vengeance and Yellowfang's Secret are about 12 years apart. Anyway I looked this up so I could headcanon that Myler is Jay's father. Crystal can be her mom, that would be cool even if it does retroactively make Russetfur firekin with my headcanon that she's Jay's daughter. Hal's parents will be Shanty and Tyr unless I become aware of better options.

Rusty was convinced to join Thunderclan partially because he'd lose his balls if he didn't. But Hal is a kittypet and he's had at least two litters. Also, more relevantly, Jake is a kittypet and he had two litters like five years apart iirc. Hmm

I love them sm. I based Jay off of a Canada Jay and Hal has red eyes because get it Hal 9000. They're the parents of Russetfur and no one can convince me otherwise.

So like Jay being Russetfur's mom is a fanon thing I came up with that could technically be true in canon but also it makes more sense than just "I feel like it," Russetfur has a similar personality to her. Hal seems to be younger than Jay, like they're the human equivalents to an older middle aged man and a super old lady, and Erin Hunter doesn't really do that kind of thing that often iirc but it's not unheard of. Birdflight is mentioned to be way older than Cloudstar. Jay is Russetfur's mom supremacy. Also Crystal is Jay's mom, that's where Russetfur got the ginger.
