Joseph Haleman is twenty years old and a resident of Greensville.

After moving to Greensville from Lexington, Virginia as a small child, Joseph spent most of his adolescence wishing he could see outside of the small town and fulfill his dream of following in his father’s footsteps by becoming a traveling musician. When he got the chance to make those dreams come true after graduating from Greensville High, Joseph jumped at the chance and completed two full tours with his band. However, midway through his band’s third supporting tour, Joseph found that the crippling anxiety he had once dealt with after the loss of both his parents had returned with a vengeance, and he found himself in a very difficult predicament. Through traveling on his own and trying many coping methods to get by and figure himself out, Joseph is for the most part still lost. He has carved out a small place for himself in the music world as a ghostwriter, and though he still craves the stage at times in order to escape reality, he finds comfort in knowing that he has a career rooted in anonymity. All of the loss and pain he has experienced in the last year has made him much more timid and quiet, and he returns to the town where he grew up only to find some semblance of who he used to be in the house he restored in order to begin to heal once and for all, in the hopes of starting over.
