I just read Heart as Black as Night for the first time last night (no idea why it took me so long because it was perfect and I never wanted it to end) and I can't get it out of my head. So I was wondering if you have any head cannons for the 'verse that you'd be willing to share?

well, I HAVE LOTS. lol i'm planning a sequel (i've already started writing the first part, but it's going to be awhile before it gets posted).
so um, headcanons.
i always thought of the pack as this broken unit at the beginning. like, derek is the aloof alpha bc he thinks he's bad. like, peter has made him believe he is this horrible person like peter, but he's really not. he's so confused and hurting and trying to protect everyone. that's why he spoils cora but gives her no affection, bc he thinks he's tainted and that money is the answer. but stiles changes all that :333 stiles basically puts the pack together in a lot of ways. i just have such a love for dubiously bad/good derek. like a derek who is a hitman, but he does it bc he's being blackmailed and trying to protect everyone he loves, but he knows he's damaged goods and a killer and bad and doesn't deserve his family or pack's love and respect.
i really love all the side characters in this verse - allison/lydia, bc i think they are as much in love with one another as derek and stiles are. isaac/scott, bc i think they are balancing each other out and helping each other realize who they are and grow up. cora/boyd, bc they are also a couple dealing with societal prejudices, and boyd is stuck bw obeying his alpha and loving cora, bc he has to keep her out of the loop a lot when derek tells him to. and erica/chris is my favorite, bc when i was planning this verse, i wanted to pair everyone somehow, and i had erica left over, and i was like OMG CHRIS ARGENT WOULDN'T THAT BE HILARIOUS. i like that they are kind of light and just physical, but they also have deep feelings for one another that they ignore a lot. and they both have a lot of baggage that i'm not sure anyone else could deal with.
i also like stiles' relationship with cora a lot, and his relationship with allison and lydia. i think they provide him with a lot that derek can't, or give him things he needs that goes beyond what he needs from derek. i'm excited about playing with stiles living with allison and developing their relationship more. (plus, i can just imagine how curious stiles would be about their relationship since there's no internet to look up porn :P)
for the sequel, i can't wait to play with stiles at columbia :D i love the idea of him being in school, learning latin and foreign policy, but also managing a bootlegger's affairs and speakeasy XD and there's going to be some distance bw stiles and derek bc of that, and OF COURSE, derek is going to try to push stiles away somehow bc he thinks stiles will be better off without him, with a normal life or with some smart, safe columbia guy.
stiles is going to meet another guy who falls for him and makes a move on him, WHICH DEREK IS NOT GOING TO LIKE.
i have this great image of peter showing up at columbia one day in his car, rolling the window down and driving along beside stiles walking on the sidewalk. and peter's like, "i need to speak with you, stiles. get in the car." and stiles is like, "um, no." but he eventually does bc it's starting to draw attention.
i probably didn't even answer your question. i can ramble about this fic forever bc i have so many thoughts, head canons, and things i want to do with the verse. i love the 1920s and speakeasies so much, and so idk if i'll ever get tired of writing in the verse :P
