The Prop Turnaround, for my character Hollis’s axe, Hollis is half Indian so I researched some tree designs as henna tattoos to add to the design of his axe, he also has an engraving of his name on his axe too. (I looked up translated Hindi on Google Translate, so I’m hoping this is accurate)

I kinda miss that small moment in the mid 2010s when everyone was suddenly into India. "Hymn for the Weekend" by Coldplay. "Lean On" by MØ, Major Lazer, and DJ Snake. Music festival fashion was all about bangles, bindis, and henna. Every girl had a mandala tapestry in their bedroom (including me). I know Buzzfeed was telling me that I should be offended at this appropriation of my culture, but lemme tell you, as a half Indian girl from a small white farm town who craved every crumb of representation she could get her hands on, this felt magical. I was finally seen as cool.
