Evening Prayer - 30 Jun 2021
And just like that, the first half of the year is over.
Time keeps zipping along, God. It’s hard to keep up. As exhausting as the constant adaptation to shifting conditions and demands of my job is, I’m grateful not only that I have a job, but that I love my job, that my job is a calling, a vocation, the place where I belong.
I’d like to box up the first half of this year, to put it in a chest—perhaps a treasure chest—and bury it in your heart so all the sacred moments of deep pain, lamentation, and grief will be held in your deep love, and all the sacred moments of celebration, requited love, and resurrection will be held in your deep joy.
Thank you for holding me always. Thank you for holding us all always. Thank you for holding the fullness and wonder of your creation always. Amen.
