"I thought you were dead." ((For Drion, of course))
“I didn’t mean to...I wasn’t supposed to...I thought...” He took a deep breath, standing before her not really moving, unable to even look her in the eye.
“I got lost, I couldn’t find my way...I’m sorry Fay, I’m sorry.” He moved forward and looked to their feet, waiting for her to say something. Always at her beck and call.
“I never meant to leave you behind.”
Begin Again | Jacob x Fay
Jacob sighed. He didn’t expect it was this hard to explain. He looked up to her. A faint smile on his face won’t explain everything. “It was Leah..” he whispered softly. “Stubbornly she went to Italy and got caught by Caius.” His eyes wandering around, still hurts because of Leah and her stubborn acts. “Long story short, they found a way to turn Leah to human,” he said as he looked at her again. There was pain on his eyes, pain for losing his beta. “I just.. needed some times to recover. I lost my Beta, Fay.”

“You make it sound like I’m brooding over eggs or something-fuck did I just say that.” Devani grimaced, grabbing one of her glass pens and scribbling a white symbol in the air. “You’re probably right. Your place it is.” She paused on her way to the door, running back to grab a box of tea. “Uh...where do you live again?”
"Sleep at my place tonight."
“That...sounds like a good idea.” Devani didn’t have enough focus to keep up her wards and she was unable to get rid of the fire glow in her chest. She snatched her second emergency backpack, grabbed her keys and nodded to the other girl. “I’m good. Wasn’t planning on opening shop tomorrow anyway. Probably shouldn’t be around people anyway.”
"Wake up! Wake up! It's just a dream!"
Devani knew she was lying if she said she could breathe properly. He was right there. Just across a crowd. Fire built in her check despite the warnings, despite Kei holding her back. Even weak she was still stronger than the Mage. So she charged, shoving her way through until the world twisted and she was looking back through bars that blurred her sight. Kei was gone, so was the market leaving her alone with a shrinking cage. She lunged just as the fire came into view-
And smashed straight into Fay. Devani had the other girl pinned against a wall in a matter of seconds, claws out and eyes gold. She snarled and bared her teeth in the threat of a ripped out throat. It took her far too long to notice who it really was and even longer to pull away. The blond shuddered, snapping her mouth shut and taking quick glances at Fay as she faced away. Her voice didn’t work and all that came out was a strangled whine from vocal cords that weren’t entirely human. She was shaking hard enough to almost fall before shoving herself back on the bed. Forcing herself to focus, she lightly dragged her nails over her neck then counted her earrings. “I’m so sorry.”

Devani all but flung herself on the woman, throwing almost her entire weight onto the other seeing as Fay was lounging on the couch. “Fay,” she dragged out her name and ended it with a snap of her teeth together. “Fay, I have great hunger.” She flicked her eyes to gold, narrowing her pupils. “And I burnt the tea. Don’t ask. I’ve done it before. And I think your hair just stabbed me in the neck.”
