🌊Shoalar Quanderil & Pike💰 Yes, Pike in our run of Princes of the Apocalypse is a female character, even if I'd think they will use neutral pronouns.
I took inspiration from the story of our bard/rogue Elise, who, as a young girl, lost her mother at the hands of the Cult of Eternal Flame and had her tongue "removed", leaving her mute. Building on that idea, I portrayed the Elemental Fire cultists under Lyzandra's command as particularly sadistic and insane, and the same fate had befallen Pyke. Seeking revenge, they chose to side with the Cult of the Crushing Wave instead. So they're mute as well, and they immediately became very close friends with Elise!
I've already talked about Shoalar in another post. I absolutely adore him! 🥹💙 I recently discovered that there's actually an official side adventure featuring him and Gar Shatterkeel, technically set after the events of Princes of the Apocalypse story arc. Someday I'd love to run a short pirate-themed adventure for my party theeheheee~ 👀
