Settle for winter
halflingsof-theshire [closed starter]
The first faith smells of autumn were in the air. Leaves that had fallen to the ground, dark earth that released the dense odor of wet wood and decay. But the days were still long enough to travel and light enough to make Aneleth’s step light and gay.
She enjoyed the silvery line that rimmed the clouds and the golden colors of the trees. And above all the abundance of mushrooms that could be found at the foot of those high rising old oaks that were part of the ancients woods.
Soon the wild lands gave way for the more fertile and cultivated grounds that surrounded the Shire. Some of the fields were already harvested and you could only smell the dust of the grain that had settled on the ground.
Aneleth had sat down after another long hike to the borders of these lands and settled with some dried meat and water to watch as the harvest sun slowly disappeared behind the curves of the country.
Oker and green as far as the eye stretched, with patches of trees here and there. Colors just as deep as that of the setting sun.
She sighed as she stood again and wiped her dress, hoping to find a farmhouse or somewhere else where she could get lodgings. Downhill she ran, enjoying the last warm rays of sunlight as she spotted someone in the distance.
