(OOC) well all, the weekend is coming to a close. And I’m happy to have been able to be in touch with some of you :) I’ll be rounding up now I’m afraid. With a sad heart. Tomorrow work starts again and I know I’ll be too busy to be out here.
Wishing you all the best and love! And when I’m able to return (even for a couple of days) I’ll let you know alright?

Aradir took a deep breath as he inhaled the fresh forest air. Right now, this time in the morning, it was impossible to think that only a few hours before, they had been laying siege to a town- a town he had helped to build with his own hands- and killed one of Aesirae’s most feared soldiers.
Yes, it was hard to think that.
Their camp was well hidden by magic and impossible to enter unless the shields were taken down from the inside. They were so close to the citadel that it loomed ominously above them every night, but Aesirae’s patrols had never noticed them. Aradir’s scouts said that they were currently searching the other side of the mountains, because that would have been the first place Aradir would have led his people in such a situation. As it was, he had had to improvise, and now they were in a large forest clearing with few geographical defences. Still, it had worked so far.
There was a small stream nearby, far enough to give them privacy when bathing yet near enough to be within the shields. Aradir undressed and slipped into the water, feeling it react to his magic and cocoon him, protect him, comfort him. Giving a small groan of happiness, he ducked his head under the water and began to wash his hair.
Puzzled she stood, marking the ground with one foot scraping it clear of dust and dirt… she did not even notice the repetitive motion. She was no longer hungry, nor thirsty and decided to return to her tent to see if her clothes had dried. The thin cotton dress did not suit her and felt alien on her skin, as if she was not dressed at all. There was comfort in the deep dark layers of her cloth, smelling of earth and moss. Familiar smells that would ease her in a slumber at night.
Her clothes were still slightly damp, but they would soon dry she thought as she changed back in them. Old worn belts she wore across her hips, not to hold the dress, but as a tool, using them to bind herself in a tree when she wanted to sleep high up in the canape, away from dangers that lurked on the ground. She tied her hair up, starting from a few braids and curling it up into one big braid, held together by a piece of leather string.
Her boots were dark from the damp and took some time to put on, she wiggled her toes and with a grunt managed to get into them. Ignoring that her feet were now stained with mud and dust.
Nearby a fire was lit and she joined to warm herself a little. Mesmorized by the flames she thought it strange that this camp would light a fire as they would be easily spotted by friend as well as foe.
Yiviria came to check on her later, delivering some armour that would fit as well as a small but functional axe.
“See Grairy tomorrow and get some practice with it,” She ordered, “For now, get some rest. You can do some scouting tomorrow night; first you need to get settled,”
Aneleth would graciously accept the invitation for rest, it would be strange if she were to settle for the night high up in one of the trees that surrounded the camp. She went inside and tried to make herself comfortable. It had been several years at least since she had slept near the presence of others. Roaming solitary and staying away from towns and cities where she felt there was no place for her.
That night she hardly slept, consious of those surrounding her. And when her mind would wander a little, she would quickly wake to a cough or laugh from one sitting outside to guard.
The sun shone early the next morning, and was as welcome for her as the sound of the first spring birds. She had kept her clothes on, even her boots and now looked to the armour that was provided her.
Not much skill should be needed one would assume to clad yourself in the protection that was provided, but nothing less was the case for Aneleth. After five and ten minutes she seemed not much further in getting into the materials than she was when she awoke.
Her cheeks flushed she came out of her tent ‘how does... one...’ she stammered ‘get into this?’ She pulled fiercely at one of the leather binds that should straighten and tighten the bodice.

Aneleth nodded, happy that there would at least be no more discussion on her intent. ‘I am neither a healer nor a fighter. Yet my skill may be of some use to you. I am a good hunter’ she paused for a minute, her hands rubbing against her side, she rarely spoke of her skill weary of it being misused or her being misunderstood.
‘You saw me earlier near the water, both my own body, but one I had just traveled in as well… the bird you see, had held my mind. I can, at wish, control it’s body with my mind. As well as many other animals.’ Shifting a little in her chair she continued, there was naught but silence at the table making her a little uneasy ‘For the hunt I either lend the agile and soaring body of a bird-of-prey. But I can roam the lands just as freely in the body of a wolf or mountain lion. Only the very small and fragile cannot survive the invasion. Butterflies and moths… so delecate and light, succomb at the heavyness of the experience’. She remembered the afternoon, all that was left was the poudery wings that quickly fell to dust.
‘If you need a scout, or spy… I can be of service to you’.
“Scouts and spies are useful,” Yiviria nodded, pleased, whilst Aradir looked at Aneleth a little strangely.
“How does this magic work? I have not heard of anything like it?”
“Another time,” Yiviria put a hand on his shoulder and shook her head.
‘It is settled then’ Aneleth said, her voice deeper and more steady than it had been. She wiped her lips and sat up straight, confident she could serve to the better of men. Or at least she hoped.
‘There is a full moon tonight, and the sun is nearly set. I have heard an owl last night when I was getting ready for the night. I should be able to easily find it, and through it scower the sky. An owl can see far and wide and none will think of it when in ventures in areas that are not his common hunting grounds’
She looked at Aradir for a second ‘I do not know who bestowed this gift, and at times, curse on me. Nor do I understand the full lenght of it’s magic… But it has saved my life on many occasion and I surely would not have become who I am today without this, so called, magic’
“In any case, let’s find you a weapon and some armour, once we’ve eaten,” Grairy replied firmly, “Whether you use them or not, it’s better you at least have some protection on you. You may very well be called to fight, so make sure you get some weapons training done as well,”
“When this is all over, let’s try and find out,” Aradir told Aneleth thoughtfully, before finishing his food and getting to his feet, “Leike anye, ythime,” He left the tent, and Grairy quickly stuffed his face before following.
Aneleth felt strange delight as well as trepidation. She had picked up some tricks along the way for handling weapons, and she was a farely skilled archer. But only for hunt and never for defense or attack. A sword had never been her weapon of choice, somehow it felt like a unnatural extention of her hand, an outterwoldly thing, in the way of her skill to run, climb and hide. Yet she was open to it and followed the others out. Grinning as she saw one of her hosts quickly grabbing more to eat, a funny sight to be honest as there had been plenty when they still sat at the table.
‘When what is all over?’ She asked Aradir as she followed out into the dusk.

Aneleth smiled, realising that she had learned to take advantage of nature and the ability of distraction. ‘Yet at no point am I truly gone... it may only be perceived as such. Much like this gem’ she held a bright blue stone against the light, playfully turning it between her fingers. ‘Is it here? Or is it not?’ She said, with a flick of her hand showing her empty palm where no trace of the stone was left. ‘Mere illusion... a skill I picked up long ago from a friend’ she smiled as a happy memory came to her of olden days.

Giving a small groan of happiness, he ducked his head under the water and began to wash his hair.
Aneleth felt ill at ease, even with the comforting smile that Yiviria gave her. There was a long silence as she brought the cup to her lips, quenching her initial thirst. ‘I see there is sadness amongst your people’ she said, with care not to hurt any feelings. Her eyes glanced across all present as she rested her hands on the table, opening her palms, hoping her body showed her true intent.
‘I am sorry for your loss today. Though I am but a mere traveller, I may be of use these coming days. I am an agile hunter, and these lands are bountiful. I am also skilled in skinning and working the hides of animals. The nights are still cold. Perhaps I can be of use to your people.’
She now looked solely at Aradir ‘I cannot imagine there is no deeper, underlying reason for our encounter. If so, I would like to explore what it is that led me here….to this table… tonight’. Trying not to be too foreward she bend her head a little and looked down, folded her hands and held her tongue for a second untill she looked up again ‘I would like to help… is what I am trying to say’ she added, her voice with both tremble as well as determination. A strange mix of feelings that had been accumulating during the day.
Aradir said nothing for a long moment.
“And what would you have in return?” He asked, frowning slightly, “You have sworn no oath to me, unlike the rest of those here,” He peered at her suspiciously, and the winged elf next to him put an arm on his shoulder, although he said nothing.
“I sense that you are genuine,” Yiviria’s soldier said, after a short moment, “But Zivi Noreth is right. Nobody offers to help without wanting something in return,”
So many times had she had such a discussion, so many times had she had to win those around her over to the truth about her being. Therefore she could not help when a small sigh escaped her lips.
‘I have had this question many a time... tis strange that kindness is something that needs defending. But I suppose tis so, and will be so untill end of times’ she said as she poked the food in her bowl.
‘Many years have I been wandering, and I feel myself to be a more than average judge of people. My life has been lined by sunsets and sunrises, strange and intriguing creatures crossing my path.’ From the edge of the room a single ray of light entered, making her eyes more intensely blue and illuminating the curls that had come undone.
‘I will not defend my intention’ she said, by now adement about her resolve ‘but my offer stands. If you feel it to be best I not interfere then so be it. If you think I can be of help, I will. A soft bed and food will suit me just fine. And if I can have my belongings returned which I handed you at the river. That would be payment enough. You see, there is no home for me to return to. Not a time or place that needs my attention. Therefore I can give this time, this day, all my attention. There is little for me to loose, and much to gain if we can offer each other trust.’

There was something very private, Aneleth felt as she looked down. Something unsettling that made her feel slightly sick. Not so much the animal would hold this feeling, but the signs of her own body that lay in the tent. As she saw the burned body, she felt this was too much to look onto. With the light slowly lowering amongst the trees she returned towards the tent, her form easily entered and fluttered above her body as she opened her eyes.
Aneleth extended her hand, catching the moth in her palm. In mere seconds the tiny animal fell into dust. Just a breath and there was barely anything left to remember this beautiful animal by.
She rose opening the tent and looking if there was anyone near, the feeling of regret, the memory of war vivid in her mind. If there was anything she could do, she would. The grief she saw was real. And being here should have meaning, was her honest believe.
‘Can I help in any way?’ She asked as she approached the grim scene.
The guard outside her rent blocked her from leaving, although judging by his composure he was also upset.
“Not now. Maybe after this evening,” Not until Zivi Noreth had decided what to do with her. The guard watched as Aradir picked up the body tenderly and take it away for burial. One of Yiviria’s soldiers, a tall and muscle Aeryn, put an arm around the purple haired Vierr and led her into one of the tents nearby.
She nodded, her eyes dull with the horror of death reflected in them and let herself be led back to the tent. Twas not like her to sit and wait out untill summoned. She was used to roam freely, hunt, gather and do crafts. There seemed no other way then to wait as she sat and watched to sun lower further on the horizon.

Aneleth followed, her eyes slightly hurting as they adjusted to the light. It seemed a campment of sorts, and she quickly tried to see what possible outcomes lay ahead of her. In the distance she heard the vague sound of an eagle. A vaint smile lined her lips, she hoped it would be the bird that had been left at the river.
The dress in the tent was not exactly her size, yet with some adjustments she made with one of the many belts she had Aneleth could make it work. She shivered once more as the dry cloth touched her skin that was red with the cold of the water.
Without thinking much, she ate some bread, trying to peek out of a crack in the fabric of the tent… perhaps, if there were horses, she could start a disturbance and distract these people.
A frown came across her brow. What if there was no malice intented, and merely the circumstance that had made them treat her such a way. For now she was safe, dry and fed. Which was something to take into consideration.
Aneleth lay her clothes to dry, spreading them on the grass just outside the tent. Resolved to wait and see what would happen if she remained open and calm.
Yiviria stayed with her, not saying a word. She seemed to be studying Aneleth carefully.
“I apologise for Zivi Noreth,” She said, sounding a little sad, “Experience has made him somewhat paranoid,” She gestured to a small and threadbare bedroll in the corner, “Get some sleep. He wants to see you this evening,” Yiviria offered a sad yet comforting smile.
Those who knew her intimately, could see the near indistinctable twitch in her jaw. A minor tension just barely changing the shadows that fell across her face. Turning her expression from youthfull to contemplative, or even, mayheps, slightly cunning.
She looked at where the woman had gestured and knew if she pretended to sleep, she could indeed make an effort to slip into a creature in her surrounding. Perhaps even scouting the fields.
Aneleth nodded and curled up in the corner. Remembering vividly the words she had just heard. Making her anxious again, this Zivi did not sound stable, and she had not yet seen any evidence she could explain her being her. She closed her eyes and pretended to sleep, calming her breath and counting the beats of her heart. With steady rhytm she extended her mind, calmly, easily as years had given her ample training.
Yiviria left, but set a soldier outside the tent to make sure that Aneleth did not run away. On the other side of the camp, there was a bit of a ruckus as the soldiers who had been out fighting that day. The voice of the head healer, a winged elf with little patience, rose above the rest.
“That’s just a bruise, you’ll be fine. No, your arm is not broken! Out of my way! Anyone have some real injuries to report?”
In the still of her mind she started to distinguish sounds and sights. A gossamer feeling, the rappid and light humming of a quick heartbeat just ever so light and tender.
She quickly gathered this was a light animal, carried by the wind and wings and yet no bird. A sad feeling came over Aneleth, as she was well aware that the smallest of animals had nothing left when she left their bodies. The skale of her mindcontrol would overrun their very essence.
A mind breeze lifted her higher as she tried to forget about the eminent ending of the creature she had set into. Now she focussed on sounds nearby and steared towards a small gathering. On the edge of a hanging brance she landed, golden brown colored wings slowly opening and closing, showing their glimmering eyelike patern.
