I hate how straight people think that everyone in the LGBTQ+ community knows their gender/sexuality identity right off the bat. Like, I'm fifteen, and my straight aunt literally asked me if I was gay because I wanted to participate in Pride Week. She told me that because I was fifteen I should know if I'm straight, gay, bi, pan, whatever. I don't know! Not everyone knows. Some people find out when they're really young like me, others in their mid twenties, some when they're really late in life. Just because I want to participate in Pride doesn't mean I have to be part of the LGBTQ+ community, I could be an ally or I could just not give a damn about sexuality/gender/whatever.
Seriously, just sent in my application to volunteer at Halifax Pride Week in July. Anyone that wants to join me and/or just come with me so I'm not such a loner boner, please feel more than welcome.
