Isn't it funny that Miquella the forever young harbours stagnancy, but Malenia the overripen (aka too old) and rotten holds the force for regeneration. I applaud fs for making it this way round as 99.9% of media out there would've made the young looking guy symbolise novelty.

Also makes me think their true curse was they weren't born as one being. They were supposed to be the one perfect child (or clone) of Marika/Radagon. Miquella was supposed to only be a small part of Malenia.

Perhaps because Marika also splitted herself into 2 beings and the Erdtree was like. So. You want a kid just like you? Gotya.

It'd also mean when Miquella tried to cure Malenia, he didn't just do it out of love but also the guilt of splitting from Malenia and ruining her life before he even gained consciousness.

Would explain why he had to try harder than their parents and all other siblings combined. Why he wanted to make people love him.

Would explain why Malenia was willing to be called his blade and tried to talk him up so much. 'My brother will keep his promise. He possesses the wisdom, the allure, of a god – he is the most fearsome Empyrean of all' - looks to be a speech she gave to people who were doubting Miquella's true intent and capability, after he had left the Haligtree.

Also side note... I Thoroughly dislike, resent even, the theory that this line should be taken as a sign of Malenia not seeing Miquella as a person but a saviour/concept. Look. It's in quotation marks, and attached to her helmet which symbolised her leadership. The context was most likely not a private conversation with her equal, but a speech to the Haligtree people who had been waiting long and getting doubtful, and Needed that assurance and belief.

Highly doubt there'd ever be a right time or place for her to speak about Miquella as a person with flaws and all to the general public anyway. She would need them to have solid, blind faith in him because that's called ruling over people. It doesn't mean she genuinely only saw him as a saviour god... why would she? She didn't think of herself as just a poor sick girl who needed saving. She's literally the leader of a terrifying and very successful army. Honestly
