General Appearance: Jane has her mom’s piercing eyes which helps her look just as intimidating as she wants to be. She always looks 100% put together, like head to toe and nothing is out of place.
Personality: She took over her mom’s nickname of HBIC – making it literally mean head bitch in charge. Jane rules the school and anyone who crosses her, well, they practically disappear. She’s incredibly stubborn, loves confrontation, knows she’s a powerhouse, hella charming, (hello she’s Eliot Spencer’s daughter) and is very, very spoiled. You know your typical, popular mean bitch? That’s Jane. Sans the Cheerleading uniform because that is so old school.
Special Talents: Besides striking fear into the hearts of her enemies with a look, Jane has her parents’ physical abilities. Instead of cheerleading, Jane is much more content with hitting things. She’s a fighter, can charm anyone into doing anything she wants, a very good cook (thanks dad), is multi-lingual, can pick locks and knows how to fuck up her enemies’ social media presence (those skills come later after she’s found out about her parents’ past)
Who they like better: Neither of them. I mean, she loves them – duh, but she’s too much like both of them that during her teenage years, she butts heads with them more often than not. At first, Jane just thinks her parents are super boring with cool friends; with all the cons Hannah and Eliot have done, they’re pretty much set for life so they don’t really do anything and have kept their past secret. But as Jane gets older, she finds out more of what they’ve done so it’s funny to her whenever they try to reprimand her for her actions considering the things they’ve done. They get closer after the Secrets are Revealed, but there’s still some tension bc they lied to her for so long. (hey, it’s in their nature) She really likes her Aunt Parker the best who is basically her confidant and has taught her plenty of valuable life lessons (much to Eliot and Hannah’s annoyance – they just wanted her to have a normal childhood)
Who they take after more: BOTH OF THEM. She’s got all of their qualities – best and worst. It’s …. a lot sometimes. But I mean, what better ppl to take after, right?
Personal Head canon: So many. Ok so one is that she was taught all these tips and tricks from her extended family: Parker taught her to pick locks and how to do thief things, Hardison taught her some coding and basic hacking which Jane uses against her ex boyfriend, Sophie taught her how to use neurolinguistic programming against her father – which Eliot hates, and Nate teaches her how to identify a mark then turn them into something to gain from.
Even though Eliot and Hannah are out of the game, Jane’s been in cons since she was quite literally born; her parents were grifting one last mark when Hannah went into labor, then they continued the con until Jane was born – but they stopped using her when she was a kiddo. And Jane hasn’t done any of her own cons (thankfully) because Hannah and Eliot refuse to let her. Their main priority for her is to have her finish high school and have a normal life.
Eliot and Hannah gave her such a plain name because it was so universal and that way she could easily change her last name if anything were to happen to them.
Having a lot of enemies, Eliot and Hannah have moved Jane around quite a lot, not wanting to send her away to school for fear of someone finding her, so the only thing that stays the same are the core people: Parker, Hardison, Nate and Sophie are all very involved in Jane’s life no matter what/where they are.
She’s heard so many stories of the shit her parents and co have gotten into (mostly from Parker) And she honestly doesn’t believe it because her parents seem so boring to her now.
Jane may appear to be this vapid, evil bitch, but she’s got a good heart and her parents begin to teach her to use her skills for good – even tho sometimes she doesn’t, sometimes she does. Deep down she cares for those in need, wanting to help them and exact revenge on whoever did them wrong (seems like her time growing up around good bad guys has rubbed off on her)

“oh come on! can we please break out the abernathy con again?” hannah clasped her hands together in a pleading motion directed at eliot. eliot eyed her as hannah slid closer to him, wiggling her ring finger up in his face, “i’ll even wear that gaudy engagement ring.” hannah grinned at him, seeing the corners of eliot’s mouth quirk up as he tried not to smile at the thought.

“after, of course.” hannah winked at him, getting eliot to grumble to himself as she sauntered over to the end of the desk. she leaned her elbows on the desk and studied all the information hardison had managed to pull on her, “thorough.” hannah mused, eyes darting over to hardison, “i mean, not everything’s there, but that’s a good start.”
