Come one, Come all!

Marvel Happily Ever After is thrilled to announce that the 2019 Hallmark Collection is now open!

The Hallmark Holiday Prompt Challenge 2019 can be found here on AO3. Please tag your AO3 entry with ‘MHEA Hallmark 2019′ as well, so that people searching by tags can find your work!

As a refresher: The collection is open from November 1st and will close on December 24th at midnight EST. There are no sign-ups for this event… you simply write your story, or create art, mood boards, playlists, or podfics as per the challenge guidelines… and then you post!

The really fun part comes after you post …. You get prizes!! We have some amazing achievement badges and banners created by the absolutely glorious @kocuria (who created the fantastic image above), and those prizes can be claimed by filling out the Prize Claim Form here! (We will preview the badges and banners soon!)

May your characters find their Happily Ever After, and may you find yours as well.

Prompt Teaser

The full lists drops on Sept 15th - but a lot of you have been asking us for what to expect. Our resident prompt-making-nerd, betheflame, has a few Stucky ideas today to whet your whistles. 

Two new students at nearby ____ University, Character A and Character B, meet the first day of classes and become study partners. A local bookstore becomes a close part of their lives as their relationship grows. 

So, let’s say you do a 15k story where Steve is an art history major at Donnybrooke University and Bucky is an engineering one. They meet in an Intro to American History class, but Bucky grew up in Russia, so he’s really lost. Steve offers to help! (Badges: length, ship, prompt, and ‘Bucky Speaks Russian’) OR! 5k. Steve is working three jobs and barely keeping up with the work for his gen-ed biology class, so Dr. Richards assigns Bucky - a senior bio major - to help Steve. They meet at Beans and Books - owned by Bucky's best friend Darcy - and fall in looooove. (Badges: length, ship, prompt, nosy best friend, Reed Richards in a speaking role)

OR!

8k. Bucky’s a werewolf. Has to figure out how reschedule a study session with his new crush due to the full moon. Turns out, new crush has a thing for fur and they end up hooking up in the bathroom of the bookstore and live happily ever after. (Badge: length, ship, prompt, supernatural creature, NSFW)

OR!

Whatever else you come up with!

Content requirements

Hey everyone! I hope everyone is having a great time creating content for the Hallmark Challenge! We’re almost to the date for the collection to open, and we wanted to remind everyone of the minimum requirements for participating, as well as adjust the mood board requirement and add minimums for playlists (Mod Juulna here will be making a few rare ship playlists, herself!).

They are as follows:

Minimum requirements for content

Fics: 500 words

Art: completed basic sketch or lineart, or equivalent in chosen medium

Moodboards: minimum 6 images compiled into one cohesive collage (one for each character, two for the prompt, two for the specific interpretation of the prompt) and should include a few sentences explaining the story behind the mood board and the prompt chosen.

Podfics: First chapter of the chosen fic recorded (*contact mods to see if the fic meets event standard)

Playlists: minimum of 12 songs. 3 songs for each main ship character, 3 songs for the relationship, and 3 songs that speak to the prompt itself. Should include a few sentences explaining the story behind the prompt chosen.
