Even something so chaste and innocent as palms upon shoulders or one's waist could be taken the wrong way---

Falling asleep. He is incredibly paranoid as time goes on so if he feels safe enough to sleep that's a huge sign of affection.

Talking in his real voice. He's used to hiding his true dialect to appear more heroic.

Drinking something prepared for him. Again, paranoia and trauma make it difficult to accept drink prepared by someone he doesn't trust. If he drinks tea you made, for example, he trusts you with his life.

💥 - Three ways my muse shows anger

Violence. Cliche, yes, but as someone who reigns in his anger until the breaking point, if he is pushed to violence he is impossibly upset.

Chilling calm. He does not yell. He simply narrows his eyes and talks colder.

Defiance. For example, when Fourchenault disowned the twins at the end of ShB, Lex immediately registered them as part of his family wherever he could. They have full access to his estates, they are in charge of his will, etc etc.

👓 - Three ways my muse shows intelligence

He's top tier at diffusing situations. He literally feels what everyone around him feels and as such can turn it into being able to calm people down.

He loves researching history! His area of expertise is Lominsan history and the Crystal Tower. He could bury his nose in books all day.

Despite picking up more martial classes later, he does know a lot about arcane circles due to his time as a summoner. It's a fact easily forgotten but he still enjoys reading about arcanum.

Y'shtola sat beside the other woman, lightless gaze turned toward her. Though she could not see the other, she could see the aether that made her up. Swirling and beautiful colors should could not describe if she wanted to. While she did not have the luxury of reading emotions on people's faces anymore, it was worth it to still be able to do her work. And help those that needed it.

"I..." He didn't really have a rebuttal to that. Truthfully, he knew she was right. They were all tiny specks of life. Destined to burn out sooner rather than later. Roi didn't see himself living too long, honestly. Not with the way he was living. The dangers and self-destruction. The tendency to throw his own life aside for the sake of something foul. Not heroic like they all said. His own selfish desire for redemption. But despite his own negative feelings toward himself, he still has that childish ego of his. The world doesn't revolve around him. Despite all the tales and battles, Roi isn't any more special or important than any other tiny insignificant person.

"You're right." Maybe he was being too obvious. But he still felt like he could do more. Maybe it was his own pride trying to force him to act. The way the people of Doma had all but resigned themselves to their fate made him angry. But it was because... Hadn't he been the same? He never wanted to return to Ala Mhigo. He had thought those trying to beat the empire were foolish. His own desire was to run. Just like he had been since he was only ten summers old, when his world was stained in crimson for the first time thanks to the godsdamned empire.

If it wasn't for Lyse... Roi probably wouldn't have had the courage to return. It was one thing to fight a war like in Ishgard. But this was more personal. Even if Roi pretended he was just another Eorzean... He was a child of Ala Mhigo. Just like her. And having parted ways with his homeland in his youth after so much death... Being there made him feel like the same scared child again. Maybe that's why Zenos beat him. Or maybe he just couldn't measure up. Regardless, despite how awful things are... He is happy to be in Doma. Farther from his demons. Even if it has been frustrating.

"I guess it makes me feel smaller than usual. Not being able to act openly." He hated standing by and watching people get hurt. He should be protecting them. He's strong enough to take it. He should be the one to burn. Not the powerless.

He sighs. It felt like it was harder for him to keep his professional distance now. Maybe it was because of the long journey. Or maybe his walls were coming down again like they had before the banquet. He didn't think he could survive getting burned like that again.

"I wish we could do more for the people here. But I guess we can't if they don't want our help." Doma had been controlled by the empire for so long. No wonder it seemed hopeless to them.
