The WOWWs, Wyse Wyshes, celebrate Hallow Days, honor those who passed, their Ancestors, Elders, Friends, Loved Ones. Five Day Honor, each day a festival, carnival, treats, fun quips which some turn into harmless pranks, part of the harvest season of thanks, preparing for longer nights, sharing how to bring light, warmth and joy during the coming bleaker months. Every season is a celebration, every day the ancestors are remembered, but these five days the World of Wyse Wyshes, WOWWs gather to remember all, some who are considered Angels. We Glorify our 'Saints'.
In years gone by it was a Hallow Day, then weekend, two days, Hallows Eve, preparing for Hallow Day, then Days, became an extended part of the celebration, so the days became three days of celebration, then the day after was also a time of long goodbyes, hugging and loving the living, one day they will be Angels unseen among us watching and caring for those who still breath, and so the day after became the fourth day. Then the Eves of traveling and preparing for guests who may visit for the special days, a time of food and fun…and now, five days. Maybe in the future there will be a week, or even longer, like the deep Winter celebrations of Glowing Radiance, which some call Sparkle or Glitter Times.
A sacred week of remembrance, but also of united festive fun.
And yet, may I add, sometimes the times are tough, rough, weary, and mean…and those times Hallow Days become one of protection, safety, calm havens where the community secure their borders and sadly at times have to exile the weak, those who resort to doing bad on others. Because of such times, some have added dark sometimes scary motifs. The Elders remind them to keep it all goodish, recall why the tricks or frights become a theme during these days…for protection against ghouls, biters, beaters, and death bringers. The more sometimes indecent parts of Hallow Days must always begin, middle and end with ways to guard oneself and the lands. We Remember.
The Hallow Days are a reminder of many parts of the society, all most be spin spun good, every aspect of the culture must sustain the future, the children. Honor the Saints, protect and enjoy the Living, prepare the way for the Future.
The Days are Hallow. The Hallow Days.
Wanted to write a Quip for my online on-going story, still in developing stage, the prerequisite if you will, but kept on writing, tried to keep it short. Inspired by the Autumn season and the main October holiday in some countries, looked up once again the etymology of the holiday and the word, how others celebrate, and brought together the good aspects of what I read. Every couple of years I look up what is the meaning of the word and season, and each time the information slightly changes. History written and rewritten.
I made up a holiday for the Autumn season of my fictional world, which also inspired the type of deep Winter season. Wrote ‘story quip’ in a half hour, another half hour to edit, basically checked for grammar and syntax, to make sure if what I wrote made any sense, and reread story before 'publishing' (posting).

A time to honor and celebrate the Ancestors and Loved Ones gone by, who have passed became Hallow Day.
Preparing for Hallow Day became Hallow Eve.
Each Hallow Eve added to Hallow Day, becoming The Eves, then Hallow Eves.
Made more sense to make The Eves an extended part of the Hallow celebrations, one day, many eves, and the day after the festivities became Hallow Days. The five Hallowed Days now include many aspects of remembrance, activities and various themes.
