If there was one thing Rachel Amber couldn't stand it was seeing someone living in the shadow of others as she had for so many years. Trying to be the perfect daughter. The perfect student. It had all been so exhausting. "The moment you stop giving a fuck is the moment you'll finally feel free." The advice was given in the hopes that maybe it would be of some use to Kate and help shake her out the depression she’d fallen into.

Rachel rested the two hot paper cups on the bench outside of the dormitory beside Kate Marsh before sitting down in the empty space left. Kate’s video had been out for over a week and was basically broadcasted to the entire school. While Rachel herself had minimal contact with Kate before... everything, she figured that the least she could do was offer a hand to ease her suffering.

“Welcome to the social outcasts club,” Her voice has a teasing edge but ultimately reads as warm. She picks up on of the hot paper cups and rests it on her jean-clad knee, “It’s not one anyone really chooses to join, it just kind of happens. It’s kind of like getting voted off the island on Survivor -- except this sucks more.”

A lot has happened in the past few months and Rachel was admittedly becoming more adjusted to not being the most popular at Blackwell Academy (or at least, the most popular in a good light). She sweeps stray blonde hairs back behind her ear as she motions towards the hot tea sitting beside Kate. “I heard what Victoria was saying... I figured you needed a little pick me up.”

three simple words that bring nathan to a  screeching stop.  his grip almost loosens entirely around the wine bottle, but he catches it before it smashes against the dance floor. she whispers in the atmosphere of the party but nathan heard her as if she were screaming at him. he has been yelled at by mark before, to the point of near-tears, and he knows: that is what awaits him if he doesn’t go through with this. but kate  ─  she said no.  ❛ shit, i-i’m sorry. i get it, it’s your first party, it’s all intimidating. ❜ nathan bites his lip, slowly starts to back away from her. ❛ i’m gonna go now. ❜ he awkwardly departs, placing the spiked bottle of wine back in the vortex v.i.p area.
