Thirty One Days of Horror Movies! Day Seven :D
Tucker and Dale vs Evil!
When a series of awkward encounters and accidents leads a group of friends to mistake the none-too-bright but goodhearted Tucker and Dale of being a pair of "Texas Chainsaw" style backwoods serial killers out to murder them, things go chaotically badly in a hilarious fashion in this slasher movie parody
Something a bit more lighthearted for today, with this wonderfully silly horror comedy that spoofs the "hillbilly horror" genre
The film has enormous fun with its concept, as it parodies the cliches of films like this, with the running gag that Tucker and Dale are actually two ordinary guys who keep accidentally coming off like villains from a slasher movie due to their obliviousness and the fact that the group of friends are utterly genre-blind and convinced they're in a real life horror movie and leap to the wrong conclusions immediately
The film packs it plenty of genuinely funny moments while the actor playing Dale gives his character an earnest sweetness
It's more comedy than horror for sure, with the deaths being played more for Scary Movie style slapstick than chills but if you're in the mood for a fun horror spoof to enjoy this month, it's worth a look!
We knew what astronauts should look like in 1967 though we didn't visit the moon until 1969. Also, the debbil made me dew it.
It's officially Mylaurie Month
