The Top Mare Awards 2012 part 3
For you, the day Discord graced Ponyville was the most important day in your life. But for me...it was Tuesday.
It's hard to imagine for a children's cartoon, but Season Two had some truly dramatic, if not emotional, moments. We're not saying the VAs should win Emmys, but, the VAs should win Emmys. Well, tonight's award is not for those award-winning moments. This goes out to that character who could best take a single scene and ham it up for all it was worth.
We're talking Steven Magnet meets Brian Blessed. Ya dig?
The nominations for Biggest Drama Queen are...
Rarity. For her Scarlett O'hara moment in 'Sisterhooves Social'. Rarity realises she may have childishly rowed with her sister earlier in the day, and proceeds to lament her sister's brief departure as though she had banished her to some unknown continent years prior.
Rarity. For reacting to minor misfortune in 'Lesson Zero' as though it were THE. WORST. POSSIBLE. THING. Shortly before collapsing onto a magically-placed chez longue.
Rarity. For the amazingly distressed way in which she reads out her 'Opal is sick' excuse letter in 'Sweet and Elite'.
And the winner is...
We think you know how this works by now...
You'd think it ought to be a foregone conclusion, given the nominations this time.
...
Hey Twilight, despite having learned enough about friendship to save the world twice over, how important is this one week's letter?
'Lesson Zero' demonstrated the critical level of paranoia that this pony can work under. As the day progresses she gets increasingly stressed and her fears grow ever more manifest. Finally she appeals, desperately, to her friends for help...with writing a letter.
Congratulations Twilight, your prize is ... one hundred Discord dollars. You scoff, but one Discord dollar will be worth five Canterlot bits. For that is the exchange rate the Bank of Equestria will set once I kidnap their princess...
