What are your top five bands?
1. Talking Heads. Always and forever Talking Heads. They were the first band I got real into and they’re just a funky group of white folk.
2. They Might Be Giants: Bury me with my They Might Be Giants merch. I don’t think any band has affected me more positively than TMBG. I’m seeing them for a fourth time in February and I couldn’t be more excited. I couldn’t follow the Dead, and Phish are too expensive, so I follow the Giants. Speaking of.
3. Grateful Dead: This is the other one that’s affected me greatly. If you couldn’t tell. I love the Grateful Dead through and through and I’ll probably be seeing every tangentially-related band and cover group until I die.
4. Phish: See above.
5. Pere Ubu: This one grabbed me like they did only recently. I’ve liked Pere Ubu for a long time now but I’ve been diving deep and really getting into them lately and I love it. They’re weird and they’re creative and they’ve been constantly evolving since 1975.
