'No Other Land' co-director, Hamdan Ballal beaten and attacked
Yuval Abraham, the Israeli co-director uploaded a video of the attack on his X (formerly Twitter) account
Hamdan Ballal, co-director of the Oscar winning documentary No Other Land was lynched by Israeli terrorists and held captive by settler-colonial terrorist organization, IOF.
According to reports, Ballal and other activists from the Center for Jewish Nonviolence were violently attacked in his home in the Palestinian village of Susiya in the West Bank. The perpetrators believed to be a group of ten to twenty masked settlers were armed with knives and guns, hurled sticks and stones at them.
Witnesses said an IOF police car showed up but didn't intervene. Instead, after the attack, they forcefully took Ballal from inside an ambulance while he was seeking medical treatment for his bleeding head. They blindfolded him and placed in illegal detainment with possible military torture.
Though he has been freed, this doesn't changed the fact about the violation of human rights, murder and disappearance countless regular Palestinians experienced everyday from the hands of the Israeli occupation. We condemned Israel's systematic killings and abduction of Palestinians, journalists, artists, filmmakers and the erasure of their culture along with violation of international human rights.
