alm was ruining my life by making me sad abt these two so i wrote this to ruin her life in return

She thinks sometimes that he would be glad to see who this other boy grew up to be. Impulsive and hotheaded and reckless, yes, but also: happy, determined, willing to do the right thing. Sometimes when he smiles the wide bright arc of it nearly blinds her; sometimes the sound of his laugh makes her ears ring. And there are moments when she doesn’t think and just reaches, but --

This boy doesn’t know the sharp tang of blood or the color of it splattered all over the pavement. He doesn’t know what it feels like to wake up every day with death resting in the dip of his shoulders, and he never will. He’s so young. The bags under his eyes come from late night video game sessions, and nothing more.

He’s not the boy she once knew. She’ll protect him anyways.

I read this webtoon (Magical 12th Graders) when I was younger, and it still holds a dear place in my heart. It's one of the few webtoons that's complete and completely free, so if you like stories that are as weird as they are heartfelt, I'd recommend it!
